BTW, it is also legal to brew 200 gallons of wine and/or beer per adult per year. 200 gallons is a six pack of beer per day. I used to brew my beer at 10% alcohol. Less bottling require for same effect.

How well does tobacco grow in the northern states? If it's a viable crop I might be interested in growing some as a potential barter item, since neither my wife nor I smoke.

My father retired from the country music biz and bought a ranch in San Miguel County, New Mexico, when he retired.

I looked at irrigated land in San Luis Valley of Colorado many years ago. Some good farmland at almost 7,000 feet elevation.

However, the locals have vicious feuds over water rights and such. Dangerous for an outsider.

My serious advice would be: farmland in whatever area. You need to be capable of self sufficiency.

I think the Iroquois grew tobacco in upstate NY.

It loves hot weather, so I would consider a greenhouse and start them early. Had no troubles transplanting them.

BTW, for a drier, I used the upper bunk of my motorhome where it gets to about 120F on a hot day in Texas. Worked great. In fact, I could make some racks and use the entire vehicle, which is currently not in use, as a giant dehydrator.

Does that mean if people take more than 28 days from first test to die they wouldn’t be classed as a cv death?

You are correct. If someone dies more than 28 days after testing positive to coronavirus then their demise will not be included in the UK government's headline death figures.

Now that i think about it an old woman died a few houses from him about 2 weeks ago, i don't know any details of why/how etc, however they held a street party for her memory last week and put on a spread etc and the covid guy was there so it just shows how easy this stuff gets about.... I will be keeping an ear to the ground on whats happening but with things like this they are very secretive as it is quite a judgemental culture, even his family have bolted to another part of the city so they don't have to face the community etc - crazy really but that's what it's like here.
We are in a gated colony so no outsiders are allowed now which is good i guess and the guards are on it with PPE, temp checks, sanitizer etc, just need to get a few bits in this avo like extra gas n food in case we get sealed off which will happen if another case comes now.

Phew! I finally caught up, too (though I admit I skipped ahead a number of pages at one point).

No flu shot for me ... I've also never had one (though I have had the flu a number of times.) I don't react well to vaccines. Either I don't make antibodies (as with the MMR, which resulted in zero antibodies after having the shot several times) or I have a horrible reaction to them. The last vaccine I had was in 2004... it was the chicken pox vaccine. I had no immunity and was going to be working with children and elders, so I was required to get it.

I got very sick, and ultimately got shingles from it. Now, I'm under doctor's orders not to be vaccinated. My immune system is highly dysregulated. I really hope TPTB honor legit medical exemptions when they do roll out a COVID vaccine. I'm also not anti-vax across the board, but I recognize that they can be dangerous to some people... and I am one of those people.

I need that "days since last COVID exposure" gif.... I had an unintentional run-in with an unmasked delivery person today. Our bell rang, and I figured the delivery was mine... and I heard the front door to our building open up (the lock is janky.) Delivery guy comes into the building, and I see he is wearing his mask on his damn chin. I am also unmasked, so I call down the stairs for him to leave the package. He keeps walking up the stairs toward me, asking my name and such, and I keep telling him to stop and just leave the package. He walks into the threshold of my apartment, and I just about lose it at him.... so, that probably counts as a potential exposure. I immediately took some chinchona bark and zinc, and sprayed the inside of my nose and throat with colloidal silver (not sure if that does anything, but it won't hurt). Took an extra dose of immune supplements, and am hoping for the best.

I've been somewhat cavalier with deliveries... not practicing the best decontamination procedures with packaged items, and still having groceries delivered to me. Definitely not up to Uncle Doom standards... not even close.

I have been quite cautious when out (including eye protection, for months now) and am sheltering in place except the necessary trips to the pharmacy. Other than that, the only time I go out is for bird care, and I generally don't have contact with anyone when I do that.

I'm still upset about the delivery guy ... that really should not have happened as it did.

That I don't know. As soon as it hits our loading dock it's broken down and delivered to the departments, unless it's excess and then it stays in Central Supply on a shelf until needed. We hardly have excess so most is used within days of receiving it.
