Most of the world that currently reports 'Recovered' using the same standards:

A) A person that has tested positive at least 14 days ago and has not been hospitalized in the 14 days and is still alive.
-or-
B) A person who tested positive, had been hospitalized at some point but has been discharged and the last positive test is at least 21 days ago and is still alive.

It's based on a WHO report from February. There are a platitude of errors with these definitions, one of the bigger one's being that it's not uncommon for people that fall under the definition of recovered to still succumb to covid. It would be more correct to re-label the meeting of these conditions as "no longer likely to be contagious" at this point but that would confuse a lot of people.

Lets just say there are reasons why most people that have a basic understanding of the numbers don't refer to recoveries all too often.

As for the information I provided, you have poked holes in NOTHING I said.

You did say, however, that they should not have been treated, and allowed to recover that day, because they might die 6 to 12 months later, and that would be a "WASTE OF RESOURCES".

So it appears that you would just like to see anyone with Covid eliminated, similar to Wuhan. What a perfect example of current humanity, you are.

There is some good info to be had here, but increasingly, this board has become HOME for a disparate group of mental cripples. You appear to be an important member of that group!

Let me make an analogy of how I see Covid going forward. There will be spikes in an area, and antibodies will be developed, and then three months later, as the antibodies bodies decline that areas will spike again on into perpetuity. I think of a camel with humps on steroids. That is the base model, not taking into account seasonal variations.

Until there is a cure, there will ups and down like a sound wave with over riding seasonal variations, less in summer and more in the coming months. This will be modified by the actions they have been espousing to us, social distancing, masks, smaller crowds, washing hands, staying out doors.

I understand you distrusting the data, the biggest misgiving I have about it all is the testing dropping off at the same time as new cases (Ca being a big exception). That said however for the time being all the numbers are in agreement. If we look at the longer trend where logically we would see less cases -> less hospitalized -> less death the numbers are all in agreement with the ongoing trend.

I won't say that lying or misrepresenting all the numbers is beyond anyone but doing so in a believable way becomes difficult and is generally not that hard to spot.

If we consider that however and look at the recent drop at face value there is no real explanation. We could argue that what we saw in Fl and Az scared people into taking things more seriously but the effect seems much larger then just that.

I personally think there is something fundamental about the way this virus spreads through population that we have failed to properly identify at this point, which is just a more intelligent of saying I don't know. Even if we considering theories like lower herd immunity threshold the very localized nature of the outbreaks we have seen makes it hard to apply at any scale lower then countries/states.

It’s all our questions. They still are unsure of blood brain barrier.... but they could have backed that up via the placental findings.

And the T cells are another backdoor that no researcher wants to touch, but that needs to be addressed. It’s why Russia’s vaccine is extremely unsettling to think about.

Best hope is it soon mutates into something much less harmful. As soon as the vaccine arrives we're just gonna have to let it rip, because social distancing, masks etc won't be accepted by people in the long term. Deaths will probably be an issue for a while, but a year or two after the vaccine 95%-99% of infections will probably be asymptomatic.
