In that case, I'm glad their symptoms were as mild as they were. As for how it might affect you with your genetic makeup, I don't know. I would tend to think that any type of resistance to any given pathogen would be passed down, but is that resistance a dominant or recessive gene? No way to know that.

If I were in your position, I would monitor your family members closely for any indications of health issues in the near future that might seem unrelated to Covid (heart problems, kidney problems, liver problems, etc.). I would also watch them for reinfection after 90 days. Finally, unless you are 100% sure that your genetics will offer you some protection, I would not take chances. I would play it safe.

I would welcome updates from you about yourself and your family members if anything changes. Ground truth is the best intel we can get. Just please make a distinction between "flu" and "flu-like symptoms." They're not the same thing.
