We only had one sheep, a gift from a friend of The Queen. Cute little ewe.

Was letting them graze in the front yard.

While I was distracted a couple of my "killer furballs" managed to squeeze thru the gate from the back yard and kill her.

I had to cancel all plans for the day and prep the sheep. About to put the pieces in the deep freeze now.

Have decided to give away the primary perp, a Husky/Pitbull mix. She's OK, but not with small animals.

Of course, The Queen says its all my fault...which was true.

If I had secured the gate better, we would still have a sheep.

BTW, knowing the basics of skinning, gutting, and prepping meat is a good survival skill. I have years of experience from hunting.

I bought a 50 lb. bag of boric acid which is great for killing a lot of bugs especially roaches.

Diatomaceous earth, food grade, is excellent too. Used a bit in each bucket of rice, beans, etc. as bug insurance.

I didn't even know Darth had a sheep, and it's already been killed! :(

moral of the story-don't count sheep in your sleep while holding sharp knives.

I've had a couple of pit mixes and they've been good boys, but one of them was too interested in my hens. We had to dig down the fencing so he couldn't lift it up to get in. Smart little turds, aren't they?

Some dogs never do learn what animals to leave alone and what ones to kill. An old landlord's dog would kill every cat for miles. Just cats. He left all they pesky wildlife alone. Go figure.
