Hello GLP friends

I began hospice care at home a few days ago. I am requesting prayers please so I can remain strong for my family and others I am close to. If anyone can give a bit of emotional support please, it is always very welcome as well.

If anyone would like, I can write about life with hospice as well, in this thread.

Also, one amazing wonderful friend here on GLP has been by my side on this journey for a while now. Much love and many hugs to that friend. Thank you! (You know who you arehugs)

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

God will be with you when no one else can.hugs

I Am Standing Upon The Seashore

I am standing upon the seashore.

sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until at length
she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come

Then, someone at my side says;
"There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull
and spar as she was when she left my side
and she is just as able to bear her
load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone
at my side says, "There, she is gone!"
There are other eyes watching her coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout;
"Here she comes!"
And that is dying.

A Minister passing through his church
In the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
To see who come to pray.
Just then the back door opened,
And a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw the man
Hadn’t shaved in a while.
His shirt was torn and shabby,
And his coat was worn and frayed,
The man knelt down and bowed his head,
Then rose and walked away.
.

In the days that followed at precisely noon,
The preacher saw this chap,
Each time he knelt just for a moment,
A lunch pail in his lap.
Well, the minister’s suspicions grew,
With robbery a main fear,
.

He decided to stop and ask the man,
‘What are you doing here?’
The old man said he was a factory worker
And lunch was half an hour
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power.
I stay only a moment
Because the factory’s far away;
As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is kinda what I say:

.

‘I JUST CAME BY TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
DON’T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS BEN,
JUST CHECKING IN TODAY.’

.
The minister feeling foolish,
Told Ben that it was fine.
He told the man that he was welcome
To pray there anytime.
‘It’s time to go, and thanks,’ Ben said
As he hurried to the door.
Then the minister knelt there at the altar,
Which he’d never done before.
His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
As he met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed down his cheeks,
He repeated old Ben’s prayer:

.

‘I JUST CAME by TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I’VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
I DON’T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME,
JUST CHECKING IN TODAY.’
.

Past noon one day, the minister noticed
That old Ben hadn’t come.
As more days passed and still no Ben,
He began to worry some.
At the factory, he asked about him,
Learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
But he’d given them a thrill.
.

The week that Ben was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles and joy contagious.
Changed people were his reward.
The head nurse couldn’t understand
Why Ben could be so glad,
When no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.
.

The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse’s concern:
No friends had come to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.
Looking surprised, old Ben spoke up
And with a winsome smile;
‘The nurse is wrong, she couldn’t know,
He’s been here all the while.’
Everyday at noon He comes here,
A dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down and takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:
.

‘I JUST CAME BY TO TELL YOU, BEN,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP,
AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN .
I THINK ABOUT YOU ALWAYS
AND I LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
AND SO BEN, THIS IS JESUS,
JUST CHECKING IN TODAY .’

Monkeyflower the best of wishes for you and yours.

I believe if you follow the advise of the people of GLP asking you to follow Jesus, when your time comes a warm hand will reach out to you and you will feel the everlasting comfort fill you, and you will know.
Until then... remember the joy of love, the warmth
of a hug and the sweet taste of a kiss.

I'll leave you with songs that I think will bring me comfort when my time comes.

Aww, if you die then we can't insult one another anymore!

I hope you live in a State where Cannabis is legal, so you can toke and watch anime before your time is up. Seriously, binge watch anime.

Don't watch Clannad unless you have tissues near by.

Also, you can listen to the Gospels and stuff on youtube, so your not straining yourself reading.

OP make this Thread your personal ongoing thread and write to us about how you are feeling and what you are going through.

I think it will be good for you to continue talking with others.

Do NOT give up until it is done, I recommend you switch to an ALL Alkaline Diet immediately, no red meat/alcohol/soda, it is an amazing healing for the body for diseases

The ONLY alcohol you should consume for your brain to repair if it is to do with a brain condition is MUSCADINE RED wine as it is extremely high in Reservatol and will reverse diseases in the brain including Alzheimers, and rebuild the brain cells.

GOD BLESS YOU WITH ALL GOOD THINGS AND MAY GOD'S WILL BE DONE.

I pray for peace, comfort and strength for you and your family and friends. I also pray that you accept Jesus Christ as your savior and repent of any sins. Christ died on that cross for you, for your sins to be forgiven so that you can have an eternal home with him in heaven. If you have not been saved please take a few minutes to pray for your salvation so that when you pass from this earth to your eternal home you will be in Heaven. All you have to do is ask him.
