My mom died in Nov 2015. The next morning I went to my favorite breakfast spot at a fishing pier where my mom and I would eat the first morning I arrived for a visit for the past 20 years.

I looked over at our favorite (empty) table and thought how strange it was to be there without here. Right then "Dust in the Wind" came on the stereo. Seemed apropos. When the song ended, I said, "What's it like there, mom?" and ELO's "Strange Magic" came on as the response. Since then, this has always been one of my favorite songs.
