My mom died in Nov 2015. The next morning I went to my favorite breakfast spot at a fishing pier where my mom and I would eat the first morning I arrived for a visit for the past 20 years.

I looked over at our favorite (empty) table and thought how strange it was to be there without here. Right then "Dust in the Wind" came on the stereo. Seemed apropos. When the song ended, I said, "What's it like there, mom?" and ELO's "Strange Magic" came on as the response. Since then, this has always been one of my favorite songs.

Been looking for an Obituary but nothing is out there. As far as a service most Funeral homes have elected to postpone them to a later date because of the Social Distancing Rules/Laws currently in effect.

I know you are no longer in pain and are feeling good now, Miss Flower- with family and friends you haven't seen for a while, and in Heaven's time it won't be long until all are together again.

I already pm'ed a few people on here, but will post here as well.

I talked to Gayle's husband yesterday. He called me. Logically it is a very difficult time. He has shut down her phone and will discontinue that subscription. But he did thank everyone for being so extremely kind and loving. That has helped him so very much as well. He said that as soon as things have calmed down, he will find a way to thank everyone on the board himself.

He gave me his number and told me I can call him anytime. I will try and text him in his morning (we are six hours apart) to ask carefully if it would be okay to call for a minute and also give him my email address in that message to get information on the service. I certainly do not want to invade their privacy in this terrible time for them.

I know that she will be cremated. It is weird in a sense that we just talked about that in our last phone talk, after I sent her a picture of a weeping willow I took on my Sunday bike ride. She mentioned that when she was younger, she often took her children to Belle Isle in Michigan, with the weeping willows and the large white house. That is where she wants her ashes to be spread.

I have searched online but so far her obituary has not been registered. Obviously in this crisis, these services are also messed up.

As soon as I know, I will inform those that have asked me about it and put a message on the thread that people can pm me or others for details. I don't know if it is wise or even allowed to put the private details of the service on the board. If there are other friends who maybe have another way of getting this information, feel free to message me as well.

Stay safe out there everyone. You are loved! hf

Hello GLP friends

I began hospice care at home a few days ago. I am requesting prayers please so I can remain strong for my family and others I am close to. If anyone can give a bit of emotional support please, it is always very welcome as well.

If anyone would like, I can write about life with hospice as well, in this thread.

Also, one amazing wonderful friend here on GLP has been by my side on this journey for a while now. Much love and many hugs to that friend. Thank you! (You know who you arehugs)

Let's just first see if we can find the obituary online. To my knowledge that has not been placed yet. And as said, with these tight lock down rules and social distancing services are often postponed to a later date.

Of course everyone is free to take their own actions when it comes to what and how they want to pay their respect to Gayle's family.

With all due respect, of course I will share if and when I get news, but I certainly do not want to be in the lead in this. I am very reluctant to call in this sad time for the family. So who ever can find out if and when, by all means.

But I do toast to our beautiful Flower up there in Heaven on this first Caturday without her here with us.

I was in daily contact with our Flower the past months since the Christmas Thread, through phone and mail. Talked to her yesterday afternoon, when she had one of her better days I thought. But it was fragile. I knew that too.

She was such a beautiful, kind soul. With a fantastic husband and family. And all here were such fantastic support to her. She kept telling me how much that helped her and how much she loved each and everyone of you. You are all awesome you know..

And I want her husband Joe to know how much I appreciate him, going through this heartbreaking time. How difficult that must have been. But he stood tall. And the kids and grandchildren. You did more than anyone could ever ask for. Wishing you all so much strength in the coming time.

And her fantastic Angel nurses and other hospice people. Such beautiful people you are.

She is at peace now and reunited with her lost loved ones, no pain, just light and warmth. rose

Hello my Dearest bestest GPL Family!

You really really are the bestest of any family I could hope for!

I have enjoyed every single thing you have posted. Prayers, poems, flowers, animals, laughs. The photo journals of walks, the busy happy working and playing animals (Louis, I know who who controls my Kountess kitty's days! You have her remote control!)

I do not have the words to express how much you all mean to me. I get to have springtime right here in my bed! It went perfectly with the chocolate malt and fries as well.

I have had a rough few days and you guys got me though. I often fall to sleep reading, watching or listening to this thread. I am aware of the outside world, yet very content in the world YOU have made for me here. I am so blessed and so loved and I can feel it and I know it. Also thank you mezzo for keeping people updated when I am not able. You are such a special hospice Angel even though I could not pick your face from a crowd. I could not pick any of you com a crowd, but somehow I believe I would be able to. When I say I love you guys, it is true and from the bottom of my heart. Kountess kitty loves you too. I can tell because she just ran thru the room dragging a link Mylar star shaped balloon by a white ribbon. If you look up the word love in the dictionary, you will find your own pictures. I am crying, not because my uncle called me, but because I feel pure simple love and joy! Thank you all for that. I am sending love and hugs. Too much love? Share it please! Too many hugs, share those too. I don't know much, but the most important things in life are people. Taking care of each other, loving each other, hugging each other. Kindness, helping others thru hard times. You guys obviously know this. Thank you !red_heart

Still thinking of you :)

You gave me a gift, friend. You probably didn't even know it.

I've been on risperidone for over 2 years. It's given for schizophrenia, which I don't have, but is also used as an antipsychotic. One of the things it does to me is that it makes it impossible to cry. So when things hurt really bad, I break out into hysterical laughter instead of crying. It's really embarrassing and difficult to explain to people who are outside my immediate circle. My world has grown very small.

But then you came along. You shared your life, your worries, your triumphs, your kitty and your journey. When it was over here I missed you very much. I cried. I actually cried for at least 10 solid minutes. It felt good to cry even though I was very sad. Thank you, Gayle. Thank you for helping feel normal.
