The ONLY thing they were definitive about during that press conference was 'don't buy masks'. Just don't.

Seriously? They said not to buy masks? Well, the good news is there's no way to ensure that Americans buy ALL the masks than to have their government tell them not to.

Good evening,

Ontario Health officials have identified two cases (one confirmed, one presumptive) of Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in Toronto. Health officials currently maintain that the risk of contracting the virus remains low. The ***** is following the situation carefully and working with public health officials to determine if additional precautions are necessary.
 
Symptoms of the virus include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. Should you experience these symptoms AND have recently travelled from China, avoid contact with others and contact a health care professional or go to the nearest hospital. 

Staff is reminded of the following precautions with respect to public health:

wash your hands often with soap and water and use hand sanitizer;
cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze, throw out the tissue right away, and wash your hands;
avoid close contact with others if you feel unwell;
if you have a severe cold or the flu, stay home; and
clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

The ***** will continue to follow the situation and proactively prepare should the virus make its way into our region. Should you have questions about the virus specifically, contact your local health agency or refer to these public websites...

I would add that conjunctivitis or "pink eye" can also be a symptom, if you catch nCoV through the eyes.

That came straight from the office of our Director of Education.

Needless to say, if parents begin to react the same way they did during H1N1, there is going to be a lot of pressure to close schools, especially if/when the first few students get sick.
