I heard from local sources that a number of the quarantined DP folks from Travis are being treated at local hospitals. I don't have a link to share ... I'm in the Bay Area, and a friend is a nurse who conveyed the info. She also said that two Walnut Creek people have been admitted into the hospital and quarantined ... this is all info through the nurse grapevine, so I have to trust it is true. Local TV news did mention a couple of days ago that some patients were being treated in area hospitals, but wouldn't release any more info than that. A hospital in SF was specifically stated (but not which one.)

This validates the rumor that the asymptomatic period may be longer in some individuals- likely due to immune system differences in people. Holy crap, imagine a person shedding virus for up to 30 days-- all while looking and feeling perfectly fine.

If nothing else, this will shut down the economy because everyone is afraid to possibly be infected by a "healthy" person in a store.

Isfahan doctor says Iran’s coronavirus outbreak is “out of control”

According to an audio file published on social media, a doctor in Isfahan said that Iran’s coronavirus outbreak was “out of control”.

A summarized translation of the doctor’s comments can be found below:

“Unfortunately, the conditions are much worse than we thought. Around 83 people suspected of coronavirus are hospitalized in Isfahan. Their test results have still not come in, but you know that from their CT scans, its clear that they have coronavirus. When this number of people are infected, it can be said that more than 12,000 carriers are in the city of Isfahan that don’t know they’re infected.

Two people have died in (inaudible) hospital and four people passed away in al-Zahra Hospital. One person is hospitalized in the Nohe Day Khomeini Hospital which will lead to death. As far as I know, three people are hospitalized in the Yasrebi Hospital in the city of Kashan which will also lead to death. The numbers we have from other cities in the province shows that the spread of the virus is alarming.

From our colleagues among health workers, until now, four residents, one intern and eight nurses are currently hospitalized. Two specialist doctors and one general practitioner were infected in their places of work.

In Tehran, there is a catastrophe. Many of our colleagues in Daneshvari Hospital and Loghman Hospital have been infected and we don’t know how many people are carrying the virus. But one can guess that something terrible is happening.

The pneumonia-like virus — also known as 2019-nCoV — was first discovered in the central Chinese city of Wuhan on December 31.

So China claims to have had a test 9 days after the first infection, but now, the CDC, WHO and China claim that there is no "truly accurate test". Someone is lying.

The definition of pandemic is a disease that affects lots of people in more than one geographical area. That definition was met by mid January. The refusal to call a spade a spade is Orwellian. It's as if the incompetent world health authorities believe that if they don't name the beast it will just go away.
