Uncle intel. I have been told by a friend that an email has been sent out to parents at Bothell High School in Bothell WA that the school is closed tomorrow due to a staff member sick under suspicion of coronavirus.

coming into work this morning the radio, not sure which station, was talking about this. They said all health care workers who directly worked with patient have been sent home to self isolate.

Letter to Families: Bothell High School Closure

Part of the letter:

To that point, a member of our Bothell High School staff returned to work on Monday after a week of international travel. They reported that a family member who was traveling with them became sick on Tuesday, and was taken to the hospital, and is currently being treated, monitored and quarantined. The staff member is also quarantined at home for 14 days. At this time, there is no confirmation that the family member's illness is connected to the coronavirus outbreak, but out of an abundance of caution, the family member is being tested. Our initial understanding was that we would learn the test results in one day. However, during my conversation with Washington State Department of Health Epidemiologist Scott Lindquist, M.D., and representatives of Public Health Seattle & King County, I was told that the test results may take 5-7 days. For obvious reasons, I have made a formal request that the CDC provide more rapid results and I have asked other community leaders to push for the same.

There are indications that other hospitals could be involved in the case. Kris Concepcion, fire chief and acting public information officer in Vacaville, Calif., said county officials had issued a directive not to transport any new patients to two local hospitals — NorthBay VacaValley Hospital in Vacaville and NorthBay Medical Center in nearby Fairfield. Concepcion declined to say why those orders had been given.

The two hospitals are in Solano County, home to Travis Air Force Base, where hundreds of Americans repatriated from China and others brought home from the Diamond Princess cruise ship have been kept in quarantine. Many of them have been released.
