Quoting: Yeti Habanero I am one who knows a lot of the scriptures but I do not confess to being a christian. If I confessed such a thing I would be a wolf in sheep's clothing. I am still learning how to change my life though. For knowing the scriptures is one thing, understanding them is another. Then again, habits die hard. So I am putting things into practice. You have a good heart. And Holy Spirit is something personal, and Holy Spirit is the best Gift for us from God. Because there are many spirits, who deceive people every second. There are many people, who say that they know Holy Spirit, but they have fruits of this world. They chase material things in their life. You need to remember that there are many demonic spirits out there. They work in everyone life, and we are losing that battle. We only pretend that we follow Gods will, while still being in this world. 1 Corinthians 6:19 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Your body is the temple. And you decide what spirit to be in you. You need to stop looking for Christians, there are not many of them. You should look in your soul and your heart. You need to analyze your feeling you feel every day and ask yourself a question if they are from God or not. Most "christians" of glp are going to brainwash you with their ideas. But don't listen to anyone, listen to Jesus. Ephesians 4:1-3 4 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. This website has so many visitors. Out of all of them, what could be the chances that a Christian would be here to help me? I do agree though. Many will try to brainwash me. A lot of people here are into conspiracies and Christians are not slanderers or into judging by hearsay but judge righteously. Not by rumors or gossip. Isaiah 11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: God bless you my friend. You are talking about God and you are doing a great job. Only God can help you. Your thread is a good light on glp. Deuteronomy 4:29 29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. I am trying to put reigns on my mouth, actions, and beliefs. I must please God and then he will keep his promises to me and all I really want is for him to love me for all eternity. |

For me it happened all at once. Clarity of everything. No one talked to me, just the gift of understanding. It was like a brick hit me. The odd thing was I was drunk, I sat in my bed and booom. I wish everyone would get the understanding. I remember it all clearly still to this day. This event happened about 10 years ago. |

Joh 14:18 "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. ADVOCATE (PARAKLETOS) IS COMFORTER. Same word used in 1 Jn 2:1 as in the gospel of John describing the Holy Spirit (Advocate, Comforter, Helper). It's not a "third person", He's the risen Jesus. Are you going to keep arguing like the rest of the idiots or will you learn? 2 Cor 3:16-4:5 the veil is removed in CHRIST. whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. the Lord is THE SPIRIT. we preach JESUS CHRIST as Lord," Romans 8:10 10 And if CHRIST be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but THE SPIRIT is life because of righteousness. Colossians 1:27 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 2 Corinthians 13:5 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? Wakey wakey. Christ has the Spirit of God. He has the mind of God which can be in us also. Nope. This explains your confusion. 2 Cor 3:16-4:5 the veil is removed in CHRIST. whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. the Lord is THE SPIRIT. we preach JESUS CHRIST as Lord," The Lord (Christ) IS THE SPIRIT. He doesn't "have the spirit". There IS NO "Non-Jesus" "Holy Spirit". Idolater. Ezekiel 37:14 I will put My Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD. 1 Cor 15:45 The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit. CHRIST is "My Spirit" in Ezekiel 37:14, NOT whatever/whoever it is you believe. |

When you receive Holy Spirit you change your fruits. If your fruits are the same as old life, you are 99% of all "christians". Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76277498 Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. When you receive a gift of Holy Spirit, your ego dies. There is no more world chasing. There are many spirits out there, but only One Holy Spirit. If you have It, your life changes and everyone can see it. Even "non-christians", they see love and joy in your life. When I see people I love them all, even those who are mad at me. Because I lost feeling of hate few years ago. Most "christians" just know the bible, but never received Holy Spirit. Hmm you are calling the Holy Spirit "it"? Sorry, it was an accident. I'm sorry, I did not mean to make you feel bad. We all use the wrong words on occasion. That said, even after we have received the Spirit of God in our hearts we still have sin dwelling in us. There is a part of us that can do nothing but sin. It is sin that dwells within us, there is no excuse for it, and we hate it, but it will remain until we are glorified. Don't worry my friend. Thanks for correcting me. We are not perfect, but with God everything is possible. I'm just walking meat without God. I'm thanking Him every day for His gift, my life. Our souls are good when we come to this world. But every human being has body, soul and spirit. And we decide what spirit lives in us. Every spirit has its fruits, evil spirits have evil fruits (bad words, anger, arguing, hate, jealousy, etc), Holy Spirit has good fruits. And that's how you can find out what spirit is in people Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Matthew 12:33 King James Version (KJV) 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. |

Tongues people, Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78400847 Is this True or False? When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78400847 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Je'ws, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? "And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? "Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, "Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Je'ws and proselytes, "Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God." So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "Whatever could this mean?" Others mocking said, "They are full of new wine." Acts 2:1-13 Why do some expect and some teach that everyone that ever believes thereafter is supposed to have the same experience as that which God gave to the Disciples immediately after the Resurrection at the very beginning of the Church? Every one of you that claims tongues, of course God can if He wants to, but have any of you ever heard of anyone claiming faith in Jesus Christ and suddenly speaking a language they did not know as a testimony of Jesus Christ to someone that did know that language? If any of you know of even one such incident, please tell us about it. |

All those who have truly given their lives to Christ are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Marvel not........you must be born again.........born of the Spirit. For children of God.........Christ becomes their first love. That is the question to ask yourself......to see if you are in the faith. Christ: "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me." Matthew 10: 37 For a person who repents and gives their life to Christ.....they are indwelt by the Holy Spirit......and Christ becomes their first love. No work involved.....it just happens. You are now connected to God thru the Holy Spirit that has come to live inside you. You can ask with your whole heart to the Lord Jesus Christ to save you......and to fill you with the Holy Spirit. Although all real Christians are indwelt by the Spirit, it is possible to quench the Spirit thru sin. That is why Scripture tells Christians "Do not quench the Spirit." It is a daily decision.....to walk in the Spirit......or to walk in the flesh (and quench the Spirit). Ask God daily for help with this. |
