This wasn't in someones private residence it was a business establishment and there were no lives threatened the guy just wanted the cash.

When a criminal endangers the cashier by pointing a loaded weapon at her to rob the store, it is a violent act. The person who got domed (e.g. the thief) put the cashiers life in danger. It's not your emotional opinion of what's right or wrong or how it could have been prevented.

The second he got domed. He was no longer a threat.

To which still begs the question, whether that guy had the right to take preemptive action without knowing for sure, or not doing anything and hoping the robbers just left with the cash.

Then you could say, 'he might have prevented someone else from being robbed and shot', which is also true of course.

Another scenario is that the robbers would've walked away and been killed by another gang , or arrested and actually have criminal charges put against them and a chance to redeem themselves, even if unlikely.

Also how do you know she would have been shot? Would the guy possibly have chickened out if she did, when realizing there were 3 other witness around? PLUS he was right on camera so obviously not to smart
