Re: Have you recently had (or still have) the worst flu EVER?
Part of me wonders if this flu everyone has been getting (my kids missed almost 2 weeks of school combined is this wuflu, perhaps it was circulating in major cities before they even knew what it was.. wouldn't that be bizarre if some of us have unknowingly had it already.
 Quoting: Nic

Yes, I would not be surprised one bit if some of us already have had and spread this.

I was just knocked by something outrageous in Dec. I work in a private academy around rich kids whose parents I know travel all over the place for business because the kids tell me. A bunch of those kids were sick, they got me sick.

I bet I have been Wu-Flu'd already!!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75733009

Man that's scary. For my birthday and Christmas present my daughter took me on a cruise in Dec. The entire ships work force were Chinese. Started with my kidneys and about 2 weeks later got hit with the bronchitis turned pneumonia headaches, sweats, swelling of the pericardium around my heart and lungs causes a lt of pain. Took antibiotic nothing guess I'm going to take a long bath and put garlic between my toes. I am taking musinex to sleep.

poor Chinese are now getting blamed every time someone starts feeling blue?

I haven’t read responses, I’m about recovered from the flu.

It was incredibly mild, fever of 101 for a few days. Very few coughs. No coughing stuff up. Tired, and the aches were terrible. Took about 10 days to recover from fatigue. Everyone in my family of 5 got it even though my husband and I quarantined ourselves immediately. Headache and aches were the worst of it.

Human coronaviruses can sometimes cause lower-respiratory tract illnesses, such as pneumonia or bronchitis. This is more common in people with cardiopulmonary disease, people with weakened immune systems, infants, and older adults.

Had all these symptoms and felt like death. This was in beginning of July. Got a cold within 3 days was pnemonia. I’ve never been so sick in my life and I got it within days of coming home from a trip to Chicago. I was out of work two weeks. Coughed for two months. Finally I couldn’t take anymore with the coughing my doctor put me on Flovant inhaler,Singular and a 40mg heartburn pill. I haven’t coughed since. And still am taking all 3. He kept me on them saying I have severe allergies. I also take a Zyrtec every morning. My DH did not get sick. But he just had the same thing. Negative test for type a and b flu. . Did not do chest X-ray told him it was viral and just use OTC. He came down sick 12/30 just started feeling better about a week ago. I have not caught it yet....

Re: Have you recently had (or still have) the worst flu EVER?
I had enterovirus 1.5 years ago.. The respirologist I saw said that it damages the lungs. I also coughed so hard I threw up. It also caused frozen shoulder, severe acid, gastritis, esophageal lesions and heart pain. I was sick for a very long time and I have NEVER had a virus like that in my life. I eventually cured it with a herb. I guess I am also very worried about this virus because I know how badly I suffered in the past and if this is worse, I'm terrified to suffer that badly again. And this virus is supposed to be worse ??????#$%^&* .Yes I'm a wreck just thinking about it. I pray that my herb is equally as effective as it was back then. From what I know and have researched, I believe that it will be. I have 3 other herbs as options just incase that one was only specific to enterovirus.
 Quoting: ~ CITRONELLA ~

THANKS Keybored...hf

I'm wondering if SOME of us with this UNGODLY VERSION
OF 2019 FLU actually contracted the Wuhan Virus and
they didn't know it had reached the U.S.A. already?

The symptoms sound just like what my spouse and I had
around Thanksgiving last year...we actually had it TWO TIMES
as it came back after we thought we were over it.

We're fine now...but I will never forget how sick we were.
I won't be at all surprised if they finally admit it
WAS the Wuhan flu strain after all the dust settles later
on. At least we'll be immune if we already lived through
it.

cheers

Any chance you think it may have actually been the
Wuhan virus? Any place you can think of where you might
have been near someone from China?

Our town is a big foreign exchange student place (University) and
I wouldn't be surprised if we brushed elbows with someone
who had it that had returned from Wuhan before all the
quarantine was in place.

Well I made this thread specifically to see if anyone else had the same thing because all 3 of us knew this was no normal sickness, so I wanted to see if other people had it too and were concluding that if it isn't the wuflu, then it for sure is its sibling.

I'd like to think we are all immune but you shouldn't be able to reinfect yourself with the same strain normally as your body builds up antibodies against it.

I do have Chinese friends but I saw them weeks after we got it. My cousin gave it to my mother who then infected my husband and I. I don't know where she got it from.

Well...if the hospitals IN THE U.S.A. ARE NOT EVEN
TESTING FOR CORONA VIRUS...HOW CAN THEY SAY IT'S NOT HERE
YET?

I posted that post about the fellow up the hall from
us who WORKS in our local hospital (the biggest in our
town and it's a university town...so you would think with
CHINA students among our citizens they would have their
staff ALERT TO THIS VIRUS.) The fellow and my spouse talked
just day before yesterday...he didn't know a thing.

He didn't even know anything about it and we had to tell
him to go to GLP and do some reading! (He is a surgeon's
assistant AND IS IN THE OPERATING ROOMS OF OUR HOSPITAL
...and this guy hasn't even HEARD ABOUT IT YET?)

There is something very "fishy" going on.

It is MORE than just possible that this virus has been
KNOWN to have reached the U.S.A. much much earlier than
they are admitting to the public...but it's ABOUT THE
ECONOMY and the President's political uncertainty that has
kept this info from us. They KNOW letting the info about
the virus out to the public will effect the STOCK MARKET
...they are waiting until the very last possible moment
before alerting the majority of the citizens.

A lot of people I know (myself included) have been hit by the worst infection they have ever experienced, which seems to be being diagnosed as either flu with bronchitis or pneumonia.

Are the doctors lying about what is causing this outbreak and is it related to or in fact, the coronavirus and they are just not saying? Or do they not know because they aren't testing for it so are just assuming?

I've had it for over almost 6 weeks now and it's still not fully gone.

Symptoms include -

Hot and chills
Nonstop coughing 24 hours for days
Difficulty breathing
Feeling absolutely exhausted when doing the slightest thing
Bad throat infection
Sweating at night enough to drench all the way through to the matress
Seeming to improve slightly then knocked back down the next day
No medication is helping

Every single person I have spoken to says this is not like anything they have ever had before.

Re: Have you recently had (or still have) the worst flu EVER?
Right here. Came down with it about a week ago.

Normally these things bounce off me, but had to spend last Saturday trekking around in wet and slush and soaked my feet through my workboots. Had a fever by that evening.

Multiple days of lingering fever and never-ending cold sweats. Soaking the bed every night, even when the fever isn't kicking as hard. Never been so cold and hot at the same time.
Wet raspy cough, mostly clear phlegm that mostly refuses to be coughed up, constant feeling of something stuck in the back of my throat.
Bouts of severe lower back pain in addition to the random full body shooting pains.
Constant light-headedness.
No appetite, no energy.

I'm just starting to swing out of it now, I think, although by the sounds of things I might just have a relapse on the way instead.

Hi keybored - W. Texas here. And yes, it's been widespread here since in December. Hubby and I were both sick - he was negative for Flu A or B, but had all the symptoms you list at one time or another over a 4 week period. I had most symptoms on list, tested negative first time, then 3 weeks in tested positive for Flu A.

Everyone I know who's had it says a minimum of 4 weeks, some longer.

Try using Colloidal Silver in a diffuser or vaporizor. It really seemed to help me. I read that the silver in a mist into the lungs helps get rid of the cause of the mucus and cough. I'm no medical person, but I was coughing so much I'd have tried almost anything. And within 2 days of misting the CS, my coughing was noticeably diminished. Good luck & best wishes!

Thanks for this thread, keybored! hf

Yes, I have experienced something very similar myself in late 2019, and so did about 30 of my coworkers (in America)

It was especially remarkable, that I even included my woes into emails with friends and family, at the time.

IMO, the "timeline" of official "discovery" of the CV leaves open the very real possibility that many in the USA mayh already contracted a version (particular generation) of this virus.

yoda Great thread! yoda
