I wrote here a few months ago that if the virus had spread to southern Italy it would have been a massacre.
Hospitals in southern Italy are not comparable to those in the north, the governor knows this and does the right thing.

I noticed most of these rioters seemed to have their facemasks on.

If they did not believe the Coronavirus is real they would not bother to keep their facemasks on, would they?

So they do believe it's real, yet at the same time they ?protest the lockdown! Are they bringing another solution to the table?

Lockdowns accomplish the intended goal because at the same time they also make superspreader events impossible.

A Dutch data analyst (I think Ab Oosterhuis or some other guy named Ad something) said months ago (before Summer) that if ALL superspreader events were banned, R0 would go down below 1 and the virus would not spread anymore. As we all know, superspreader events have gone on.

I think dozens, maybe hundreds of children standing close together during recess, on the school grounds (about 0.50 m at most, I watched it) often without facemasks, many eating and having their facemasks down, definitely qualifies as superspreader events. Let's say this happened just in ONE single school (the one that was showed on TV, in Belgium) EVERY SINGLE DAY, SEVERAL TIMES A DAY.

This would mean as many superspreader events, involving a part of the population known to be heave spreaders already.

Sure, moreover they wore a hood to prevent getting cold

Acording to Spanish Prime Minister there are more than 3 millions real infected people in Spain.

As another user said (posting a newspaper link) most of them belong to "ultra" soccer fans, far-right movements and mafia clans.

They are not negationists... They are not protesting against lockdown either.
They just "surf" on the socio-economical crisis to get an advantage.

Most of riots in Italy are usually led by "shadow" criminal forces.

However, this is not the point...
Let me say...

The more the socio-economical crisis get worse, the more criminal and far-right forces will gain strength and consent.

"divide et impera" (divide and conquer): that's what moves these kind of people.

I just hope this is not a start for other riots in other cities.

He is right, there are about 6 million who got infected, and around 3 million who are now contagious.

Unfortunately, that's what I see and hear from people I know...
(mostly nurses and retired doctors)

Moreover, some italian regions are starting to say that we should only test symptomatic people because swab test requests are too hight for our healthcare system to process...

Hospital managers say that people's urge to undergo swab test is "nonsense" and is currently overwhelming labs.

The entire "system" is collapsing...

Just talked on phone with my rural neighbor who is a farmer who rarely leaves his farm (no side gigs or machine work)

He got diagnosed with COVID today, has high fever and is barely able to walk up the stairs to his sleeping room.
For now, quarantine.

Edit: Details:
Said he was fine yesterday, woke up, felt like shit. Called hotline.
Wife drove him to test station in our area, COVID verified.

Tomorrow family and contacts are going to be tested, likely one of his sons brought it home from work or wherever but had no symptoms.

Who ever says this thing is made up is an idiot.
