I am a little bit concerned, in case Roberts has a chance to break a tie regarding calling witnesses. It's expected he will decline to break the tie, and the tie means no witnesses.

But this is John Roberts, who blocked a perfectly and in fact vitally important question twice. No explanation, no apology, he just blocked it because he could. He put his thumb on the scale favoring the House managers, protecting them.

He has done that once before, when he admonished both sides after one side (the House managers) misbehaved on the first day.

He could put his thumb on the scale again. I do hope the Republicans have 51 votes, not just 50, against consideration of witnesses today.

The Chief Justice saw his name and is fully aware that a fisa warrant exists on him. An ongoing investigation could be ruined if questions were answered in a public venue. That’s why he let the generic version of the question be asked.

The trump team caught red handed writing questions for GOP Senators. These people can't play by the rules on anything.

This. This is how Roberts is compromised. Through his actions Judge Roberts is helping Sen Paul to make his case that the unmentioned coup-plotters did exactly that
