If you liked the 80's you should have loved the 70's...maybe you were too young to appreciate it.

To me the 80's were the watered down 70's...cruise

Growing up me and my friends in the UK were so jealous of American High Schools...the fact they had no uniforms, everyone drove cars, partied all the time, huge sports fields, we all thought it was like the high school movies we used to watch.

80's and 90's girls....so beautiful!!! and no tattoos.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74827144

To be fair, they're in high school, in most places even today, not even old enough to get a tattoo if they wanted one. Don't forget the 90s was the "grunge" phase. Alot of girls just like that suddenly got nose rings, tattoos and shaved half their head.....

They are happy because look at the demographic.

They had no violence-prone individuals being present to ruin their happy environment.

Nowadays that demographic doesnt exist. Schools are riddled with wannabe thugs and criminals that ruin everything.

Think of what a city like San Francisco is slowly morphing into in the 2000s. A place increasingly seen as full of sidewalks with shit piles, piss smells, discarded syringes and drugged-out homeless people.

A TV sitcom from the late 1980s, Full House, which was set in California's main northern city would now come off as a sarcastic joke if they wanted to portray San Francisco as some picturesque setting for young families raising their families.

Even though SF has always been full of mindless liberalism, it wasn't as bad in the past as it is today.

When it comes to differences like that, there's nothing tainted by nostalgia or past or present generations reliving reality incorrectly.

Simple....what happened is that back then hardly anyone realized the truth. The saying 'ignorance is bliss' is true to an extent. People are much happier when they think everything is okay - once you realize its not that's when things start becoming real. And, even back then.....real is scary.

The Clintons came onto the scene in 1989. The kids you see in the OP's video weren't exposed to them long enough to truly hate. Is it just a coincidence that Americana has never been the same? I think not...

The movie "An American President" from the mid-1990s, and directed by none other than the leftwing "meathead" himself, Rob Reiner, has a scene where the character of a female lobbyist (played by Annette Benning) tells the character of a single president (I think widowed and played by actor Michael Douglas) that the American people would never accept a US president who had a girlfriend.

That movie, from as recently as 1995, now comes off like sarcasm and a bad joke.

Family Ties, the television show, and other shows like it, helped ruin this country. People in the 1980s were being fed a strong dose of communist propaganda on their televisions. Virtue signalling was being done through regular entertainment, conservatives were depicted as fools, while communist indoctrinated fools views were being extolled as society's winners.
