I was looking foward to us having time together after the kids were gone and that's when she left. I don't understand women. Men work our asses off just to get affection from our girls and they don't seem to care. |

I am 43 with two kids. days finding younger women and starting a new family seems inviting especially pretty young mind and body. but heh, I am good right now, wife is good most of the time. I wonder how she'd feel if she knew she was just a symptom of you settling? Don't get me wrong - I'm not knocking you. I'm truly wondering. IMHO in being married, raising boys, having brothers etc men are passive settlers and constant bitchers in relationships, seemingly content to dream of greener grass but feeling anxiety/apathy/anger when the grass doesn't grow on it's own. You're very very visual creatures and it's so much more than sexual. Despite your being truly simpler creatures (a compliment) you are harder to please. Regarding the OP, I do not know the details of your break in but I'd be curious to find out how you handled the situation. The truth is if she felt the details would be the same without you there, any gush left in her ovaries probably just dried right up. The minute a woman stops feeling like you're the the who augments her ability to be a woman (raising kids/grandkids/aging parents/cooking/cleaning/creating a home/safety) she kinda has no use for you. Sad but true. If life is no different for her with you there, all you become is another chore and item on the list. Women are by contrast very easy to please. If she sees your value in even the smallest thing she'll love you. Guess what - it's not a joke. Taking out the trash or filling up her car (or genuinely saying thank you) is the easiest way to get laid.
