Rush Limbaugh awarded Medal of Freedom at State of the Union

Rush Limbaugh would be inducted into the swamp hall of fame if it existed. Hardly anyone aided it more by selling its actions to the masses.

I like Rush Limbaugh and I’m a regular listener, but I don’t think that he’s done anything other than exercise a right that every American has. What is happening to him is terrible and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody, regardless if I agreed with their politics or not. He has been heavy cigar smoker however, and enough to be on the cover of Cigar based magazines. He did what he does way before Trump ever considered taking office and will probably do so after he’s gone. It seems almost like a participation trophy. Medals like that should be saved for people who have made a true, unselfish, sacrifice for those other than themselves, without expectation of merit.

(Afterthought)....

I was driving yesterday, while they had a guest host on his show and they played the clip of Rush announcing his diagnosis on air, and all it made me really consider how many times I’ve failed my attempts to quit smoking. He found out on my birthday, which put it in some perspective...
