I think you have a good opinion on that. Because I noticed you are spelling G-d, I think that is a wise thing to do.

The dash thing is "controversial", as most things are. The issue is that G-d is the English equivalent of Elohim, which ironically we don't worry about putting the dash in because we understand it to be a title and not G-d's name. Since L-rd is always used to convey the Tetragrammaton.

But I don't think that anyone has taken G-d's name in vain in a very long time considering that His name is one of the best kept secrets and "forgotten" of by the J-ws. I don't think it's Yahway btw. I think that the J-ws allowed for the proper pronunciation to be 'forgotten' to project people, especially the Nations, from breaking a very serious commandment.

I agree with you on Yahway, my friend is very religious, he keeps saying that Gods name is Yahway, and I don't agree with him on that. Not many "christians" study Old Testament, and they should. Many believe that Old Testament is not important. But without Old Testament, New Testament is basically useless.

I think there is a very strategic reason the Churches don't encourage people to study the Torah and only stay in and quote from the NT.

You are so right. That's why I don't attend any "church". Every church has their own idea and form of religion.

I attend an Orthodox Synagogue. I like the community and their commitment to being Torah observant and learning.

There is so much wisdom in Old Testament. I love the story about Enoch. His relationship with God was so good, that he didn't see death. Do you think its possible for us to have a same relationship with God, so God can take us without death? That is my goal, I know that Enoch lived all his life for God, and I only started my path few years ago.

I don't have anything against Orthodox, it was surprising that people like you go on crazy forums like this one. I found this website when I was searching for something about Christianity. I thought this website is full of animals and brainwashed people. But you are one of a nicest people I talked to.

I enjoy the people on the site. Sometimes you get a surprise when someone comes at you from a different angle and you really have to dig to counter their argument. Keeps me on my toes and deepens my own understanding. I do wish they were better read outside of the bible because it would enhance the conversation, but not everyone wants to read things that don't fit their views and most are Sola Scriptura lol. Some are very smart, some aren't. Most are very unmoving in their opinions, but I know there are a lot of lurkers here!
