there is no actual video footage of the execution, neither his family crying, and of course, even if there was a video of the execution, it should be detailed, showing the weapon, the bullet etc etc, for best believing the whole execution a beheading should take place in live broadcast WorldWide so to be absolute sure and yet again, nothing can be taken as 100% sure when we talk about Internet Broadcast, special effects have gone way beyond imagination.

So...no, there was no actual execution no animal be it human or just Earthly animal was harmed in any way or form.
