Oh great! You all need to see where your food is from and where it is processed. I try to buy only Skipjack tuna from American waters (product of USA) because it is supposed to be the the safest tuna (less mercury/smaller fish). However, when reading the labels from the brand 'Wild Planet' and I think even the ones from Trader Joe's - it says packaged in Vietnam!!

And, from what I have read, the corona virus can live in a live or dead animal. Great - now I get to decide if I think the fish was packed before the virus came on scene or pitch the stuff. Guess, I could nuke it in the microwave and it should, in theory, kill any virus in the meat. YUCK!

FYI,check all your foods and produce. Sometimes it is almost impossible to find the country or origin or manufacturing - but if you buy basic materials, it should be noted.

Man Charged in Sale Of Cat Food as Tuna

A Chinatown food supplier has been charged with putting fake labels on 33,000 cases of cat food and selling the cans as chunk light tuna, the authorities said.

The suspect, Michael Chu, faces nine counts of fraud. A Federal indictment charged he purchased the cat food for as little as $4 a case and sold the tuna for up to $24 a case.

The tuna in the cat food had decomposed and was unfit for humans, an assistant United States attorney, Tanya Hill, said on Friday.
