The mayor of South Bend, Indiana is not normally someone you’d think of as a player in a presidential race. Particularly if that mayor is less than 40 years old (NRA member John F. Kennedy won the White House at the age of 43), and also has service in the War on Terror as a member of the Navy Reserve. So, in that regard, Pete Buttigieg warrants attention from Second Amendment supporters, since he will likely be around for a while.

His record and campaign positions, though, are typical of his competitors. He’s spreading the nonsense that Bloomberg’s agenda of gun bans is compatible with the Second Amendment (he was a member of Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, according to Fox News). Like Seth Moulton, he should know better than to paint modern multi-purpose semiautomatic firearms with the nonsense “weapons of war” moniker. He’s posted photos of himself holding a M4 carbine – a REAL “weapon of war” that has the ability to fire in a full-automatic mode – while he served in Afghanistan.

But wait, there is more.

Buttigieg also wants to ditch the Electoral College. Now, we’ve discussed the National Popular Vote before at Ammoland, especially when states hand their voice over to California. In essence, it’s a way to rig the system against Second Amendment supporters"
