Quoting: 1-2-Follow When the locusts turn to yellow color THEY ARE TOXIC. They cannot safely be eaten by humans nor other critters.  how do you know  When someone feels the holy ghost, they know. The locusts are yellow because they of the type they are, specifically desert. They are the cousin of grasshoppers, both of which are safe for human consumption especially when fried. And yes, when someone makes the connection, they will certainly know. It is both pure enlightenment and intimidating awe.
