Anonymous Coward User ID: 78121322 United States 02/16/2020 05:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I saw a video yesterday of a New York reporter doing a story on how the police there are under gag orders to not tell the public about how "serious," it is. The video was on Twatter, but got removed. I think that they are either lying about the entire thing, or they are lying that it's not a much larger issue until they can't lie any more. I also think China did the same thing. |

SocialEnigma User ID: 77835141 Canada 02/16/2020 06:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | At the rate it spreads; there should be more info coming out. Could be a gag order. Maybe they're deliberately not testing for it. And just writing it up to "flu". But there's going to be a time when more medical professionals decide to screen for it; at least test for Influenza A or B more often. Look at Canada; we had multiple cases in different cities; now you don't hear anything about it too much. It's everywhere; and spreading fast. We can only hope that we can recover quickly from it and we don't get sent back to the dark ages. |

nutmeg User ID: 76388104 United States 02/16/2020 06:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How can little countries like South Korea has 29 cases and Thailand have 34 cases, but the USA only has 15? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78482841 For several weeks thousands and thousands of people escaped China and flooded LA, SF, Chicago and NYC. Also look at the cruise ship, only a few people from Wuhan infected several hundred! IMHO the USA numbers are low because they are not testing for it, and the actual numbers must be a lot higher. What do you think? Who is most susceptible to the Coronavirus? [link to virusdanger.com (secure)] |
Sphynxcat User ID: 78286974 United States 02/16/2020 07:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, this is my very first post. I have been following this forum for the past 4 years and have just been blown away and amazed with the wealth of info, knowledge, and common sense that is shared. Finally got up the nerve to open my mouth. I am happy to be here with all of you but at the same time, admitting my extreme concern and sadness about what we are all dealing with. I want to know the truth but am also afraid of hearing it. So far, nothing is making sense here in the US. Flu cases peaked in late December and dropped steadily for weeks afterward. A second surge began in late January, and a little over a week ago another rise occurred. It is fair to say that the true peak has not yet occurred. Is it the flu or is it coronavirus? Infectious disease doctors agree that confusion exists about whether people are getting sick with the flu or coronavirus. So far, 92 flu-related deaths have been children, a higher total at this point in the year than in the past decade. Also, hospitalizations are much higher at this point than ever seen in the past. When are these 5 cities going to start testing all people with flu-like symptoms for coronavirus like the CDC said was going to happen a few days ago? Who knows how many people have what? I guess it's going to take a few more weeks to obtain a better picture. One thing I have noticed is for such a busy season, there has not been the normal "hub-bub" about crowded ER's and doctors offices that you normally hear about. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78323780 United States 02/16/2020 07:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | News blackout. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75953087 They say 0 deaths in the US also but if somebody died in Quarantine on a military base are you really gonna hear about it? People never keep secrets. Someone would leak the news. Where? As already pointed out WHO is working with pretty much every social media company. The media controlled by 6 companies(98% of all media)? Time Warner, Disney, Murdoch's News Corporation, Bertelsmann of Germany and Viacom. Where do you think anything can leak they do not want to? Sure word of mouth, but that is slow...and by the time it gets out it will be very dated information. Sites like GLP may be the only hope honestly. |

Yup, there's something rotten in Denmark. I heard somewhere that the CDC were the only ones who could test for it and they could only do 8 tests a day. Hopefully the new test kits will get out there ASAP I agree with you that it will take a few weeks :(( |

If somebody dies of pneumonia but has not directly travel to China or been in proximity to somebody who has recently been in China they’re not testing it at all and it is assumed to be pneumonia or flu that killed them. |

I agree with you not much conversation about what’s going on in the hospitals. In the one that I work in part time, there are absolutely no precautions being taken whatsoever. And oddly there are no in 95 masks available if you wanted to use one. There was one box completely empty on the unit from a week ago and nothing in the store rooms. telling it straight User ID: 69392795 United States 02/22/2020 11:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | US is only testing in a few states. I’ve got a believe it’s all over New York City. There’s 650,000 Chinese that live in New York. Got a believe at least a few of them have it after traveling to or from China. But since nobody’s being tested for it, people are ASSUMED to be dying of flu. |
