Anonymous Coward User ID: 77455346 Switzerland 02/20/2020 04:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So, I got into target shooting, I'm a complete noob, but I've been shooting at least once a week since December & have picked up some things Quoting: Mathetes 2.0 Last year I bought an Ruger American Ranch 16' barrel, & this thing out of the box shoots sub MOA, that's their claim & it is true I paid $389 for the rifle, its in 5.56/.223, not very conducive for long range, but I wanted something to use to learn some skills on a budget, .223 ammo is really cheap! When I do move up I am going with a .308 Anyway, this rifle is great, light, a short barrel(very easy to move around with) & most of all inexpensive & very reliable! I did buy a scope that costs as much as the gun, a primary arms 4-14x44 & it is fantastic! It takes all the math out of shooting, it has an etched in range finder, wind adjustments, bullet drop, even a moving target gauge One thing I have leaned, always heard about it, but found out for myself, there is a HUGE difference in ammo quality, shot some cheap Monarch $4.99 box of 20 & that stuff flew all over the place, after experimenting, I think I found the ammo my rifle likes to eat Hornady black 62 grain Here is last Saturdays best shooting I did, 3 3/4 inch target 1/2 MOA @100 Yards... Just wanted to post this for anyone thinking about getting into target shooting, I Love it, prob never compete, but its awesome just to compete against yourself! [link to imgur.com (secure)] |

[link to imgur.com (secure)] good job, and now for the pistol part hopefully you're smart enough to never buy into the glock hype and ignore the glocktard fanboys (it's a dead end) you'll instantly be years ahead in the game and free to learn... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78377564 United States 02/20/2020 06:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Glocks work just like 1911s, and SIGs. They are ultra reliable, durable, affordable and accurate. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14367370 they all work fine and you can find out what you are most comfortable with simply by being at a range and asking another about their pistol-most are only too happy to explain their preference and if you know "gun etiquette" allow you to handle it. OR you simply train and adapt to what you have. some of us are simply not comfortable w/glock trigger safety set up and that is the issue. |

Yeah, I bought a Canik TP9SF a few years ago, Great pstol & & an even better price $399. I said I'm a budget guy, my problem is because I'm an old fart my eyes suck, but I think I found a solution for my farsightedness, I bought some high quality safety glasses with straps so now I can wear my reading glasses & they stay on! I look like a dork, but I can see my front sight now.....lol But thats why I love my rifle, the scope fixes all that! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78196598 (try some tracers and you'll be surprised how far it can be accurate enough.) lol yeah I don' think my range I shoot at, even though I'm friends with the owner would go for tracer rounds Be strong, be of good courage, God bless America & long live the republic. . |
