No kids under 5? That doesn't sound very promising no wonder no one will adopt them. Who doesn't have kids, whether grandkids or their own kids in their home at times? This eliminates 90% of people and the people with families are usually the ones that adopt dogs. I guess they are hoping for some old lonely people to step up.

Don't know about specific branches of military, but of the 5,000 working military dogs that went to Vietnam, none, or possibly a handful of dogs returned. It should be read by those who want to adopt a dog and aren't able, by those who are adopting a dog, by those who love dogs and think of adopting them. Have tissues ready.
