My daughter has already missed two weeks this semester due to a stomach bug in January and then actual influenza A last week. Unless they close school or she actually gets sick again, all I can do is send her with an N99 mask. I found some fashionable ones on Amazon at the end of January when all this started and got one for each of my girls so they could wear them without looking like Ebola doctors.

Perhaps, but it's better than a surgical mask and much better than nothing. And I'd never get a 17 year old to wear anything more restrictive to school. I'm lucky she's willing to wear this. She only agreed to after she got the flu. I told her if she'd been wearing it for the previous week she had the mask she probably would not have gotten the damned flu.
