Re: Anyone else suffering doom fatigue?
No, not really. Why should I after all? It will be doom only if it comes to our part of the world. That doesn't mean that I don't care about other people or myself, I just don't feel the need to be scared to death for something that might or might not affect me in the end.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78472133

to whatever degree your level is. everyone is different.

the fact is, everyone's level of "doom" sense has been raised.

now whether you have a minimal increase in doom reality or it perked you up enough to pay attention. each person will act accordingly to their threshold.

but we all have a threshold that is being reached at a peak, then fatigue, then back up again.

that is just life anyways.
insert subject line.
this one just happens to be potential world affecting doom.
different then most.
unless doom is already entered your door and your wrestling and putting up a fight.

this is life only subject matter is larger and these peaks are becoming closer and closer together.

only the beginning
peter out now, but get ready for more rounds after rounds.

Re: Anyone else suffering doom fatigue?
I think slow doom, creeping death, is the worst kind of doom. One day I get all ramped up, like "this is really it!" The next day, I'm like "meh, this could be a nothingburger."

I just heard a story on the radio about the number of cases in South Korea "exploding" overnight, and some deaths in Italy and Iran - so it definitely sounds like this thing is still spreading. But will it be the mass event like some of us think..? Again, I keep going back and forth.

I like what Scrump said: I am living my life as I always do. I am keeping an eye on this, but really, what can anyone do if it is the big one? I will say that I have upped my spiritual practices a bit - got some new amulets to wear, praying more, meditating, got a nice altar going and keeping it alive. I know some people think this stuff is hokey, but to each their own.

I've said before on several other posts, and I'll say it again : if Betelgeuse goes supernova - and before I get some scientific lecture, I understand that means it would have gone supernova like 650 years ago, and the light is just getting here - that will be THE sign for me that we are truly in those long foretold times.

Eyes on the sky, feet on the ground, heart in gratitude - today, and every day, doom or not.

Only when I'm on here which is why I immediately "unpin all" as soon as log on.

I don't have cable or any type of television service so I'm no bombarded with news.
 Quoting: Anonymous Girl

Very smart. There's no local/cable TV channels with our TV either (intentionally), but soon as I get on here, my anxiety goes through the roof. I'm bad enough with worrying all the time WITHOUT GLP...
 Quoting: Too Dark Park™ Two

lol I'm the same, but it's more worrying about my family than anything newsworthy.

I can definitely feel the uptight vibes when I'm on here lately which is why I unpin everything and I'm usually perusing other websites, working, or in the silly threads.

This is not doom, give it a few more months then you will see real doom! You are all walking past your own graves!

There’s no doom right now if you’re in the Western Hemisphere. Doom is rampant in China and now South Korea, Japan and Iran.

We’re weeks away from real doom, both virus doom and economic doom. Relax and enjoy the good life while you can - because by April and May it’s going to feel like we lived on a different planet.

Covid-19 appears to have the ability to truly be a massive deadly pandemic. That said, anyone else find themselves having to take a fast from the news just because there is so much information out there?

A couple of times I've felt like I overdosed on doom to the point that I have an idea about what's coming but quite honestly don't care.

I can't ignore the developing info. For the first time in my life I'm truly worried about the future. I don't see how this fails to get us to a Mad Max scenario.

The world is holding its collective breath at this moment ; What will this virus actually do?

The governments are not fucking around with this one; that should be a signal to everybody. -- They dont know; They are scared;

The measures will work one way or another. This will be taken care of; But , how bad does it get, before that? -- thats anybody's guess right now.

To think that this virus has a real significant chance of getting as bad as the movie contagion, is enough for me...

get prepped. get ready. thats all... and if its a nothing burger, ... good!

Re: Anyone else suffering doom fatigue?
everything in life you worry about to some degree or at some point in time.

the levels of worrying increase and decrease over time.

that is the nature of the beast.

only faith eliminates all worries.

but we human so, worry, rest, survive, worry, rest = that is reality

if you go through life without worries, your careless and stupid shit will happen.

ahhh ready for next "doom worry"

I think it will peter out once we get closer to summer.

but I believe it has potential to come back stronger every winter season, only to get worse every time. obviously vaccinations will be implemented.

weak die, stronger survive. seems a common theme throughout our past, when swift and unexpected doom enters mankind's story.

this is how I see the scenario playing out.

Re: Anyone else suffering doom fatigue?
No, because I generally ignore all doom.

I know people who yearn for doom, like the explosion if a Yellowstone super-volcano.

It is weird because they aren't even capable of handling life as it is. It would only go so much worse for them because people wouldn't have any patience with their lazy and feckless ways.

I always presumed I could handle everything and anything.

I wouldn't enjoy doom. My life would go on much as it has, but harder all the time.

What kind of idiot wants his life to be harder?

Even wicked people have more sense than that.

I try to stay away from it, but it keeps calling me back every day. It makes me so mad that I can't stay away from it. There was a youtube channel though that I had to stop watching because of the mis-imformation on it, but I do still come here. It gets overwhelming and I get so frustrated and pissed over it all.
