The Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918 spread around the world rather quickly and aggressively.
That was in spite of modern transportation, such as jet planes, modern autos and Princess Line cruise ships (boats like the Titanic weren't as common) and cargo containers not existing back then. Cultural, political internationalism also wasn't as dominant at the time too.
