Cynical Realist Senior Forum Moderator User ID: 71403146 United Kingdom 02/23/2020 07:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sorry OP... this is not a good post., Quoting: Cynical Realist Another problem apart from antibiotics DONT kill a virus... IF you take these unprescribed antibiotics without a proper consultation will also mean that later down the line tthe antibiotic that is taken WILL become weakend and in some cases useless... There will be NO record of use.. Sorry again nothing personal...But this is bad information and quite honestly irresponsible... Yah.... I think you are inappropriately hyperventilating. There has to be a record of use for antibiotics to work? Really? One of the BIGGEST reasons resistance to antibiotics happens is because doctors do not evaluate whether the patient needs an extended course of antibiotics to deal with an already resistant strain. MORE CORRECTLY STATED the provider INCREASES THE RESISTANCE. They will hyperventilate about antibiotic resistance caused by “stupid patients”, when they themselves may be the bigger reason for increasing antibiotic resistance. Lacking the clinical skills ... or laziness...they simply FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES and make statements like yours. “stupid patients” simply following a stupid post! IF YOU HAVE A FEVER DO NOT LOWER IT WITH MEDS.... A FEVER IS AN IMMUNE SYSTEM RESPONSE TO A PATHOGEN (VIRUS, BACTERIA ETC..) IT MEANS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY....DONT USE DRUGS TO LOWER YOUR TEMP. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21423850 United States 02/23/2020 08:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | why would you want to take antibiotics when you can just chew raw garlic cloves or take emulsified oil of oregano? these are more safe and effective and don’t have horrible side effects, not to mention they are much cheaper Quoting: Catseye this is what scares TPTB more than the virus, that people are realizing there are better alternatives I swear by oil of oregano. I make my own with oregano from my garden and organic olive oil. Easy to grow even here in the the northeast. I recommend everyone get it started this year in their gardens. You only have to plant it once and you will have a lifetime supply. Or grow it in a pot in a sunny window. Worth it's weight in gold. |

Liposomal C has made very little difference, in spite of the hounding going on~guess I'm anti-oxidized enuf. :dontknow: cough cough. |

Deplorable Mary User ID: 71205112 United States 02/23/2020 09:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Antibiotics. Eww. I don't take them unless absolutely last resort. My doctor won't even prescribe them unless nothing else has worked. Yes, you can buy them for pets, and they are the exact same. Of course they don't want you using them because then doctors lose money, pharmacies lose money. Years ago I worked at a pet store and we kept huge bottles of them for medicating fish if needed. We would use those for ourselves as well. The list is a good thing to have as some antibiotics don't work or don't work as well for certain things. It wouldn't hurt to have them on hand if tshtf and you absolutely needed them. Maybe you wouldn't have access to alternative treatments at the time. Of course we all know they don't fight viruses. Secondary infections from virus, yes. Keep on hand for reference. Take supplements and make sure your diet is one to keep immune system functioning properly. Try natural remedies first. Use antibiotics as a last resort. Or don't. It's up to you. |

Bullshit, I’ve been taking/stocking Thomas labs Fish Mox Forte and Fish Flex for occasional bacterial infections here and there for over a decade, and they work perfectly fine. Just eat high probiotic yogurt/gummies after a cycle to get your gut back in order. |

Quoting: Leroux why in the hell was i given medican all my life...For the common cold...if a virus?? Triminic ....and such.. Trisminic is not an antibiotic. It is a medicine for cough and colds. If your doctor was giving you antibiotics in addition to Trisminic, that was stupid, a waste of money, and it helped create the problem of antibiotic resistance we have now. In the 1970’s that’s what a lot kids were given...yellow Triaminic... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78465536 Australia 02/23/2020 09:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Antibiotics can kill you. If you take them you are killing off the good bacteria that is stored in your stomach. The bacteria you kill off might be the ones that would have eaten the bad bacteria. That's why they sell probiotics. To replace the bacteria you killed off with the Antibiotics. The stomach is very important in keeping you healthy. It's your own Biosystem. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74501940 Agreed. I avoid them if possible. Also in the belly button. |
