I am a US citizen, come to Thailand four months every year.
I have been a multi-time per day ac on GLP for many years.
My mom, some of you may know, Aquarius, used to be a regular here.

She urged me a month ago to get next flight out. I decided to wait it out until more is known. If I get stranded and quarantined anywhere, I will pick either here, or my home town in the Pacific Northwest.
Last thing I want is to get quarantined in some shithole place with a bunch of sick people.

I stay on a small island that has almost no Chinese tourism.
Did visa run to Cambodia and returned thru Bangkok airport Jan 27.
80% of the people on the plane wearing masks. Usually more like 10%.
I’m healthy and feeling good. Knock on wood.
Several of my friends on the island have been ill lately with cold flu like symptoms. So far all have recovered within a few days.
CV discussion is now the talk of the day.
My return flight in a few weeks thru Seoul SK is starting to look iffy and so today booked new route thru Europe. For the first time ever, I choose to get travel insurance with my ticket purchase.

Nobody here is panicking, but the news gets worse by the day. I’ve seen a few people in town wearing masks the last couple days. Tourism is down this year sharply, even before the virus news, due to the over inflated value of the Thai baht.

Right now, it’s pretty much life as usual, except half normal amount of vacationers.

I had a conversation today with my close friend, a business owner,.
I asked him what he thought would happen if even one or two people on the island were diagnosed with CV.

His response... I don’t even want to think about that. It would be devastating.

Hoping to be back at my home mid March. Not looking forward to even the best case scenario, which is that upon arrival, I will be quarantined in my home for one to three months without contact with family and friends.

Bad scenario... I get quarantined in a foreign country in a place with a bunch of sick people.

Plan B...
I am considering staying put here where I’m at for as long as I need to.
