You are the soul who has a spirit. And spirit is something you decide, there is a spirit of this world and demons. And there is a gift from God, Holy Spirit. Every human being is a free soul, and each one of us decide what spirit we want to follow in our life. Most people in this world are following their spirits/ego/satan. Every soul has fruits, and those fruits come from a spirit we have in us. Some are so into a world spirit, they forgot they have souls. Souls that was given to us from God. Your soul is who you are, and your soul is going to be judged, not body.

Matthew 12:36
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Your soul decides what you do or say. Soul is sinless from beginning, look at kids.

If you are with this world, if you are following it(religion, politics, agenda, etc). You have a spirit of this world and its not a Holy Spirit.

The soul decides nothing, it's neutral, just a record, Jesus and the Father can read your soul and see all your lifetime details.

The spirit gets connected to the soul, once repentance and baptism are effective, before then, the spirit was asleep and showed no activity, no record, therefore only your body activity is recorded in the soul.

So lets recap a bit,

A sinner walks in the flesh, his soul records everything he does, his spirit, himself in fact, is asleep, the soul gets no datas input from that sleeping spirit.

Then that sinner repents, get baptized, he becomes a new creature, he awakes spiritually, from that point the spirit is awaken and connects to the soul that consequently starts recording spiritual activity.

As a novice, a disciple you have a poor spiritual record, because you didn't yet experienced the super natural nature of the spiritual realm.

That's the reason why disciples are easy targets for the evil spirits, because they are clueless young spirits that don't know yet, the extend of the tricks demons and fallen angels can use against them.

You are unable to either read or understand anything in Scripture. That is because it was not written for you, a White Person.

In essentiality the spirit of the creature world is regenerated, not reincarnated; that is, the spirit of the creature born or generated in the earthy body (material) is reborn into and regenerated in the pure, unblemishable body (spiritual) created in the beginning of the Creation suitable for such occupation. Hence, the labors of Messiah being paramount, general reincarnation becomes unnecessary; more especially since progress in the spiritual body is more perfect than in the earthy. Reincarnation also limits multiplication; while multiplication is a Divine edict bearing upon the ultimate peopling of space with intelligences, and with the eternal sparklings of the inanimate.

Only way for us to understand who God is, is Jesus. God is not a human being, and He is not affected by body chemistry and animalistic hate. I'm not part of the world, and not chasing anything materialistic. All I have is my life and God. I know that this life is temporary for our souls. We live within at least 11 dimensions within our universe. many of these dimensions are not perceptible to us. We see traces of these dimensions within dark matter and virtual particles that seemingly pop in and out of existence from nowhere. these imperceptible dimensions are most likely dimensions that contain information that we are able to absorb. An example of this is "thoughts" we do not know where thoughts originate but they likely originate from within a dimension of thoughts which is outside our perception. sort of like a database that feeds software.

We also have no idea how photosynthesis is able to power a plant. We can see all of the mechanical processes that are contained within photosynthesis however we cannot replicate it to create power. therefore there is likely also some sort of dimension that the plants can absorb that passes pertinent information to them that allows them to function.

This being the foundation there is likely a dimension that contains our soul which actually exist prior to our physical bodies. Again similar to how a database exist to feed software the information it requires to function. the "soul framework" exists before we do and we perform read/write functions throughout our lives to shape our eternal soul.

I see no reason to run from this question. The answer is, I simply don't know, and don't pretend to know how God works on things that he hasn't informed us about.
What I do believe, is it comes well before birth. Fetuses in the second trimester have been proven to be responsive to music. Therefor they have a primitive form of consciousness, which means they are a living being. And as Genesis states, Adam was a living being, after he was given the breath of life.

The Lord said that He knew Jeremiah before He had formed him in his mother’s womb. Stuff like that lets me know that I don’t know everything.
However I do know something far more important: All of us are sinners and Jesus saves sinners.
