All my compadres were getting cookies and chocolate and candy and stuff. My foster mother sent me a bunch of toilet paper. I was irked, like, WTF, where's my chocolate and cookies?! Well, as it turned out, everybody else was using that jarsh C-ration toilet paper, and soldiers like a nice two-pply plush wipe as much as anyone, and I was able to parlay my toilet paper, 2 or 3 squares at a time, into a massive hoard of chocolate and cookies and candy. In short, in hard times you will really miss toilet paper if you don't have it, and my foster mother was a freaking genius.  |

No panic yet and shelves still well-stocked. Normalcy bias here is that the Government would never take Draconian measures like quarantining everyone in their houses for 2 weeks or longer.(They did nothing about planes from China etc.) However, CBC is slowing ramping up the fear narrative reporting on Federal Govt. taking emergency inventory of supplies and telling people to prep. for a disaster. The supply line disruption from China has been compounded by the blockades of our ports and railway lines by protestors. Once the full realization hits that shelves are not being restocked, things will get interesting. |
