I am susceptible to idiopathic anaphylaxsis - it just happens with no allergen. Our daughter has the same thing. ER docs have told me to keep Pepcid and Benadryl alone with my epipen with me and with her at all times. A cytokine storm is a reaction very like anaphylaxsis. Trust me, you never want to go through it. Buying enough for my family tomorrow even though I am not worried. It never hurts to be safe and both my daughter nad I can use it if there is no pandemic. I suffer from something similar and I know what you mean. When I started learning about this virus I got the The importance of preventing a cytokine storm and getting the OTC meds now while you can. The key is to start taking them the minute that you have any kind of flu-like symptoms. Megadoses of vitamin C will help too. |

I am sort of mentally preparing to die what with having 2 autoimmune diseases. How much would you take and how often? I have prednisone pills in my stash, I hate being on them but will they stop a cytokine storm? Wife, who is a RN, said that yes steroids would help a cytokine storm. Thank you so much for asking. How does a cytokine storm feel? Like you cant breathe? Is there chest pain? Does it happen gradually over days so you know it is coming and can start meds? Much appreciated thread. |

Basically what that means is that they stop the body from going into overdrive and turning on itself. Mast cells are what cause reactions when you get stung by a bee for example. Trust me... I know, I am severely allergic to them. Take it or leave it, but it might just save your life. I've wondered what would happen if one took a mast cell inhibitor like nalcrom, in the middle of a coronavirus attack. Would it lead to ones death from deactivating the immune system or would it prevent ones death by deactivating the immune system. ~ CITRONELLA ~ |

Cheap and easy to get. Most of the population does not know so they should be easy to find. Umm...Zantac was proven to cause cancer in users. There are lawsuits in progress at the moment. I suffer from anaphylaxis food reactions and they give me a combo of Benadryl and Pepcid in the ER. It makes sense to me that cytokoine storm would be helped by this combo because both situations are an overreaction of the immune system. |

In the case of my wife's GPA/Wegner's, de-activating her immune system is the only thing that keeps her alive. It's so crazy... Her own body would literally kill itself if left to it's own regard. |

It feels like every system in your body is going crazy at the same time (raging headache, sinuses, digestive system, etc) Another very seemingly different reaction that can happen is that your body just goes into a kind of a stroke-like response. I was hospitalized last May for what might have looked somewhat like a stroke but it was really a reaction to too much histamine. Dropped my heart rate so low it was crazy. My sister thought I was having a stroke. These cytokine reactions can kill you. And are killing now with this virus a lot of people. So take this cytokine storm prevention seriously and begin those meds at the first sniffle that you get, the first scratchy throat the first little cough that you get. Honestly if I didn’t suffer from this sort of thing already I would be thinking that this virus is nothing worse than the flu and I wouldn’t understand how life-threatening this can be. |

Things that are going, fortunately I got them all last week or earlier: 1. N95 or ANY type of mask. Good luck with that. I acquired 24 of them and a UV-C sterelizer box. 2. Hand sanitizer. Although this isn't the preferred way of cleaning your hands, soap is. This will also do. Shelves are bare in my area. 3. Chlorox type spray. This is cleared out where I am. You can still find some scented versions. 4. Chlorox wipes. These are still on the shelves. 5. Bleach. I've seen empty shelves at walmart. I saw an interview today that the Fed Government is going to be requiring some companies to produce masks and gowns and such. They said if they can't get some volunteers, they will use the War Powers Act to require it. Good or bad on the process, it sounds like they are going to be producing them, whether they are plentiful or not, not sure. Thinking they will put limits on the quantity you can buy to prevent black market and hoarding. |

One of the owners has been complaining to Washington since 2008 that having all our masks and pep made in china is a huge national security risk. No one listened to him. |
