It is a stand alone Walmart and has a railroad track running right behind it.

Over a month away for closure. China built a hospital in a week to prepare for the increase.

A month isn't' a short enough time. No flu hospitals. Just Walmart being walmart and damaging local.

Dollar General has been buying up the Walmart Neighborhood Markets.

With China out of business, there will be little stuff too sell in the future. All stores might as well close now. Amazon can sell off whatever goods might be left, giving preference of course to their most treasured Prime customers.

Everyone will have to make their own cloths, shoes, light bulbs ... well, candles I suppose, and whatever else you'll need to exist within the new world arrangement.

I'm thinking you will see India tooling up quick to supply the American addiction for cheep plastic crap.

Perhaps Mexico will tool up as well as at lest the plastic crap could arrive faster that via ship.

You would think the USA would re-tool and start building again but I just don't see people willing to build things for low pay in this Country.

As long as newly created manufacturing jobs actually pay enough to survive on, the people who are left alive after the corona dust settles will probably be glad to have them, esp. if they are located in the smaller cities and bedroom communities surrounding large urban areas, where cost of living is lower. the inner cities are likely going to become wastelands after the riots and mass death - ain't no one going to want to live there anyway.

Or, if the martial law govt decides to remain in that mode forever, they'll be conscripting folks they "don't approve of" and making them work in the factories just like the Chinese do now with their dissidents....

Walmart normally shutters underperforming stores-those with high shrinkage-theft. Violence and theft have also led to the closure of many malls.

As America slides into third world status it will most definitely happen. It is inevitable with rapidly changing demographics.

Maybe they figure they can make bigger profits by turning them into toilet paper factories.

The one near me in Southern California had four large storage units show up in the parking lot last night. Right in front by the front doors taking out parking spaces. 20'x15' big approx.

This location is couple towns away. I'm in that area pretty regularly. I'll hafta keep an eye on it and see what takes place there.

The WalMart in Germany was shut down because they refused to carry local goods and only carry things from China

They aren't going to become anything, more than likely, they'll be demolished. Believe it or not, Wal-Mart hasn't exactly been doing very well.

The one in Ypsilanti is garbage. Though, like the article says, there are 3 more Wal-Mart Supercenters within 17 miles of the one that is closing. It's not a far drive.
