Anonymous Coward User ID: 70557500 United States 03/07/2020 01:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a feeling this thread will soon become very important to those of us who live here. I have no news to share. The silence is deafening. Someone posted on the large thread that only 5 tests per day are being done in AR. Does anyone know why? Seems to me that all of those in quarantine should be tested. In answer to the question about what we think about it already being here or not, I think so. I have a neighbor who said she had a grandchild who died of ARDS. Not sure that was it. I think that is the acronym she used, but she also said school children get it a lot. I hadn't heard of the acronym prior to her using it. She also had another grandchild that they took to the hospital because her temp was 103...but I think the child is okay now. She said her whole family has had the 'flu'. This happened about a month ago. |

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a rapidly progressive disease occurring in critically ill patients. The main complication in ARDS is that fluid leaks into the lungs making breathing difficult or impossible. Things are fairly quiet in this area, went to the Berryville Walmart yesterday, everything was fairly well stocked, with the exception of powdered milk. It's good to know there were so many GLP friends in this area. Thanks so much for the news and updates, it's invaluable info. |

In the mean time, she is completing some of her abroad coursework online." Oh, good. That should be right around the time she'll become symptomatic. That usually happens a day or two after they are released. Just in time to bring it to AR. You know, the other stupid thing about these 'self-quarantines' is...are they in with a house full of other people who are NOT quarantined who are wandering around? Because if she has it, they now have it. Every hour these days, I'm doing triple Putin Facepalms. This is like a bad dream! |

It creates cognitive dissonance for those of us who are following the action via GLP & Twitter, etc.. Arkansas folks are very calm, right? Well... here's small data sample. At my workplace (~40 employees), about 1/3 are freaking out of their minds. Another third, they're saying it's just like the flu and that spring sunshine should stop the virus. The last third is like, What are you guys talking about? They have literally no clue what is going on. No awareness, at all. Except now it's all anybody can talk about at work. And those newbs are gravitating towards the just-flu orbit. People are coming into work with 'strep throat' and vomiting. Those of us freaking out are saying, "GO HOME!" And management says, "The show must go on." One guy just put in his two week notice, to "bug in". I suspect he won't be the last. Last Edited by Wharf Rat on 03/08/2020 09:07 PM ~Wharf Rat |
