If not: Why not? I can only speak for us myself, but, when I take a quick gander at my neighbors, I can say for certain two things:
1) they’re almost immediately dismissive of critical thinking and the prevailing ideology is, “well, the CDC says... (insert nothingburger rhetoric here), so, I’m not even going to think about it.” Good plan... 2) the normalcy bias is v. strong ‘round these parts. I know this is breaking the fifth wall or whatever, attempting to incite F2F relationships in a population that’s 100% virtual, but can’t help but think the time to consider banding together with locally like-minded aware individuals is about nowish. I had GREAT hopes for the apps NextDoor and Citizen, but both almost immediately devolved into a soapbox for ranting and raving about things like dog shit found in yards and gawking at how bad things are in the core areas of the metro areas Citizen covers. Curious to hear your thoughts!! Happy Friday? -SuperNueva |

This seems like the kind of website locals in my area would frequent, but I have yet to see any evidence of that, unless they are truly paranoid about their personal life posts and use proxies |

Though you’re also right in that for even that subset, they are more likely to keep their GLP habits on the DL for fear of ridicule, among other things. :-/ I’m prob wayyy too far swing to the other end of the spectrum, wherein once I came to terms with the absolute ubiquity of my dataprints all over the place, IRL and on the web, I stopped worrying about putting myself out there so much bc, well, my data self already is. Still very curious to hear of anything F2F that’s been formed locally from here. Not just the Bay Area, but anywhere!
