Or do they sell the overpopulation lie because the population number is too high to completely mind control and manipulate?

So they require a smaller number to better control and remove free-thinkers and rebels.

its an opinion i guess.
many might agree there are too many people on the planet because most are living in economical/political bad situations.

But i guess if there was free energy and everyone was smart or compassionate enough to live without the need to hurt others..then we could probably have way more.

Compelete myth, just the global elites pushing their depopulation agenda by inserting the idea into the minds of the masses that we don’t have enough room for everyone. If we would stop spending soo much money on bombs and other bs like nasa we could easily end world hunger especially if it was a united effort involving several other countries helping in the initiative.

What do you think about overpopulation? Is it a myth?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78587484

No. Myths are known untruths. Overpopulation is very real and is happening today. Various animals no longer exist many others appear to be on the road to extinction. When the food supply for a species doesn't meet the population, either they adapt to another food source or the population will decrease to the food supply. Man ,so far, has had the ability to use technology to compensate for many issues that would spell the end for any other species. That said we could certainly have natural events that would make the current pop numbers no longer viable. I'll leave out nuclear war etc and any other man made issues. History has shown that specific areas have had over population resulting in mass migration as well as deaths. So not a myth, a daily occurence for some species, its a fact. If you want myth, read the 1st printing of "The Population Bomb". Spoiler alert, we all died in the 80's. It's a bit like "X" is going to kill us in 10 years. Then in 8 years a new "X" is going to kill us in 10 years and we forget about the old "X". The "X" has replaced God coming back and ending it all. Oh wait, C19 is now biblical on a few threads. Never mind, that myth is back.

Re: Overpopulation is a myth or not?
I think it is one of the biggest problems on earth.

I am 64 so I watched it grow and there was a time when the world could afford to care about people and you could get a job, buy a house buy a car, get drunk by noon, smoke cigarettes on the bus, and so much more than that but you had to be there to know about it.

More to go around and money bought you things and they were cheap.
We have dollar stores now thanks to China but back then it was the 5 and dime. Things from Japan.

I think what is clear is that we are not turning into beige people, if you take the walking tours in America in youtube and see the beaches and tourist traps everywhere it is clear we are turning into Mexicans.

You know that in heavily populated areas like India just getting onto the train is like the bull run in Spain.

See trains in India in youtube, and the subway pushers in Japan, the traffic Jam that almost killed China, I forget how many days it lasted.
2 weeks.
China National Highway 110 traffic jam
I could go on and on about it but yeah, way too many people.

Yes. Think of a problem, any problem facing mankind; that problem looks better with a few billion less people on the planet. Now consider this, when is the last time you went anywhere, EVER, and said to yourself, "there just aren't enough people here"?

Re: Overpopulation is a myth or not?
It's overpopulated in some places, and not in others. People aren't evenly distributed across viable parts of the landscape. And it probably would be horrible for the rest of the species on this rock if we were, because once we, as apex predators, move in, most of the rest of them end up dead.

If we capped it at current population levels, and distributed people around a little more rationally, while still leaving plenty of wild and green spaces; and 'they' quit suppressing free energy, and outlawed usury, I think we could make a much better world for all. It would also require a lot more education of everyone, with the phasing out of all the crazy religious and ideological 'doctrines' in favor of rational, free thought. So it's probably not going to happen...

Re: Overpopulation is a myth or not?
Pushing 8 billion. Soon to be 12 billion.

Think about those numbers. People who think we’re not over populated can’t mentally conceive what those numbers actually mean.

There is only so much land that can be farmed. The vast majority of land CAN’T be farmed.

There are too many people. Fly from Chicago to NY some night and it’s a constant blanket of lights and sprawl. The goal isn’t to fill up every available square fucking inch with a god damned person. Some of you imbeciles amaze me. The vast majority of the Earth should be wild and untouched, not pavement.

If so can’t drive 10 minutes in a rural area without some buffoon causing a traffic jam then there are too many people. Way too many.

Don’t worry. A good old fashion collapse will fix shit in a month.

And in the future people need to breed less. If you are a single woman then don’t fucking breed!! If you are broke then don’t fucking breed. It’s not your right to procreate if I have to provide for your bastard offspring and suffer because you breed like a stupid monkey.

If you did that they’d be buried in a Texas shaped column of filth and shit 30 miles high.

We are absolutely over populated. If humans were smart it is possible we could sustain our current population via intensive hydroponic gardening and collective minimalism. But humans are dumb, greedy, lazy, and filthy. People still litter for Christ’s sake. That is a sign of animalistic behavior.

Also, people who aren’t experienced in life say we’re aren’t overpopulated but they have never worked to maintain infrastructure. They have no idea what is involved in just processing sewer. Providing electricity. Roads. Fuel. The highways are ALREADY GRIDLOCKED. Ask any trucker or locomotive engineer. We are ALREADY MAXED OUT with no room left to build more infrastructure. I work in these fields. We are at the limits. And population is growing exponentially.

Doom isn’t a virus. Humans are the virus.

Re: Overpopulation is a myth or not?
There are enough reasons for a government or powered elite to lie about population totals that the total numbers they issue can not be trusted.

If a nation's government has either hostile intent toward a neighbor or fear of aggression from a neighbor it would make sense to pad the numbers to make your nation seem more populous, focusing the increased numbers on fighting-age men.

if your nation is poor, whether from a lack of natural resources or an uneducated, unskilled, and/or lazy workforce, lowering the number to make your nation seem richer and more prestigious as far as per capita wealth is concerned is one path to take, or the number could be increased to have the opposite effect if the goal is to secure international aid in some form.

rich nations can play this game too, artificiality raising or lowering their wealth to either intimidate other nations with the idea that money equates power or hide their wealth to remove attention and shift focus onto other nations when confronted with greedy, aggressive, invading groups/nations.

the UN will issue an exact, definitive number based on the numbers given by its member nations and say "this is the current total world population." Well, if they know exactly how many people there are, they must be able to provide me with a manifest correlating each number to a name and general location of residence, right? anyone know where it's at? if the number they give can't be confirmed independently then that number can't be trusted.

until satisfactory evidence is provided to prove the official population numbers, then I must say I'm solidly in the "overpopulation is a myth" camp.
