Big mistake. Allowing travel with the UK. Makes no sense. It is just as wide-spread there as it is in any other EU country, apart from Italy. Plus EU folks travel to the UK, hand off the virus and on it goes to the USA.

Typical flight to Europe is overnight, return flights are during the day. The planes coming back later today and Friday will be packed with folks wanting to get to or back to the USA. It will be a zoo in the major airports like CDG and FRA.

He did say though (your President) that the measures are not for the UK (United Kingdom)
So typically speaking, if more countries did "Brexit", they would be out of the measures taken, regardless if they are full of the virus or not.

A lot of people don't understand that 11 airports have kept receiving flights.So we have all these flights from Asia that never stopped plus UK which is supposed to be doing very poorly right now.

This is like closing the barn door after the horses wandered out. ALL international flights, to and from the US, should have stopped 2 weeks ago. This is a half baked idea at best, given the current state of affairs.

Stupid question, but I have to ask it - does Friday midnight mean tonight at midnight (start of Friday) ~OR~ does it mean the end of Friday, which also takes place at midnight?

This is why I hate the term "midnight" - you never know if they're talking about the beginning of the day, or the end of one, since "midnight" means both.

So fellows, what is it - do they have all day today and tomorrow to fly home, or just today only??

The UK has probably agreed to bring in measures so flights can keep going.

Expect after Friday they will be checking the temperature of all travelers to and from the US and at some point everyone will be tested for the virus. (probably your DNA put on a database forever too!)
