The way to deal with fear, which is a construct of the mind, is to run right at it, be active, not passive. Do constructive things. Not sure what you live in but do more preparation to be safe, try not to go out now to prepare. Be spiritually strong, seek the lord Jesus while there is still time if you haven't. Remember the old Indian, one day will be a good day to die. You're young I take it, so you should have a long life yet. However, realize no matter what happens, this kind of stuff is not going away. This is just another phase of terror attacks. My generation and yours, has had to live with the threat of annihilation from the day we were born. War, polio, more war, nuclear threats, Cuba, Communists, Clintons, Obama, more damn wars, suitcase nukes, Iran, North Korea, Hillary, and on it goes. I have to take the edge off before circling down the drain. I went through some dark times mentally in early February and started preparing my family. Just got back for another haul of food and ammo. My wife commented today, " ya' know... it seems like we would be panicking more now that this thing is full blown SHTF. I guess we have been there and done that now we're just waiting for the inevitable." I'm ready for what may come. I'm sorry. Beyond this virus and drama, I know a lot of people who have felt the start to 2020 has been a rough one. Lots of personal hardships. Stay safe.  |

The good thing about the GLP people is that we are the ones who know something big is going to go down in our lifetimes. A wise friend reminded me early in december, before I even knew about this virus that all our training was over and it's now time to do the work. I am finding a very thin line between being informed and that feeling of panic. Feel what you feel now and don't suppress it, because when and if it comes down to being in the middle of the "shit" we are the ones who will have a clear head and be able to direct the panicking people who are just feeling the fear. True courage is feeling the fear and still going on.  I would agree. I just had/have a hard time understanding exactly what's going on. I think there is so much more than this virus. Thet's the part that has me fearful, not "just" the virus. I'm thinking more of why do they want everything shut down? What happens when we are ALL locked inside our homes and nothing is open? My Dad is not well at all. I guess if I get told that I'm not going to work for a while, I can go stay with my parents and help out, but he receives nursing care and has personal support workers. What if they stop going? Too many what is. I'm with you on that thin line. If they have everyone locked in their homes, then they can shut the banks down and send in the blue helmets and nobody will put up a fight, IMO. BTW, Schitt's Creek is pretty funny! Yeah it's the stuff beyond the virus that I think is the scariest. It is. I've only watched the first season. |
