My son has COVID-19. He lives in SF

OP thanks for bringing this up because this brings up a very valid and maybe a concern.

I am 40 and in Iowa. This past week I have been sick with head and chest congestion. Really bad cough and made it hard to breathe at times just because the lungs hurt. Was very tired but essentially stayed away from work (ability to work from home), people, and loaded up on Emergin-C.

Today is day 5 and I feel about 90%-95% but honestly it felt just like a cold I had back in October but LESS impactful. The one I had last fall kicked my butt for 2 weeks.

It crossed my mind that maybe I should have gotten tested but then again with the back and forth on costs I sure in hell didn't want to get nabbed with a minimum $150 co-pay (our entire family has had multiple colds this winter so its been an aggravating way to spend $$).

With the way you described it...I feel many, many people are in the same boat as myself. They'll play it off like they normally do as just a "cold".

All I got to say, is if I did have Covid-19, it was a mother fucking pussy lol.

I reported yesterday that my husband's doctor cousin in NYC has COVID 19, but oddly enough....no one had any curiousity about that.

He is achy, has a runny nose, mild fever, and it is a MILD FLU. His wife, who lives with him, does not have it.

This is a new SEASONAL FLU VARIANT, out of Asia, as virtually all of them are, and there is not a damn thing we can do about it. This hysteria and all the cancellations are pointless and we are being PLAYED. This is being hyped as a cover for the destruction of the US economy.

Most people won’t get tested and will be out and about. They would have to be anyway to go out and get tested. I’m just treating anything I get like I was infected with it. I won’t get tested.

I second this. Your son and his family are going to be fine. Try not to worry. This is ALL hype. This is a new variant of seasonal flu, that's all it is. If he has no underlying medical problems, he should be fine in a week or two.

Sorry, sniffles and feeling run down seem to be a little bit minor compared to the people having to wait weeks getting tested for flu viruses then only after those are neg do others qualify to be tested for covid

Seriously you have to stop with that. In some instances is no worse than a cold. In some instances it can be very deadly. Sure I would agree that it is flu-like but they are different and we must treat it that way.

That's the point...he "tested" positive without showing those signs. Now whether or not the test was accurate is another discussion but it's plausible that this virus could be in others and they don't even know it.

There are different strains of Covid-19 floating around out there. One theory is that South Korea has a less severe version, Italy-Iran may have more severe ones.

It will take months to fully sort out what's actually going on.
