So, Governor Baker just announced on Local TV there are no plans to issue a 14 day Shelter in place.

Thank goodness I was wrong, but I would imagine this could Change.

What is interesting to me is he acknowledged there was a rumor. “Wild Speculation”

Thank You OP.

Massachusetts has the fourth highest number of confirmed cases in the nation.
I would rather be ready for a shelter in place than not.

Also, we never get much info in the Berkshires, so we count on the rest of the state. For some reason we get our news out of Albany, NY.

Also,
Thread: Here it is! Fauci says we need to SHUT Nation down for 14 days!

Every day should be "Hug Your Pet Day"

Each click feeds a shelter animal

Hello I’ve been reading this site for years. And a lot lately with the Coronavirus. Decided to sign up after seeing this post. I’m in Massachusetts and want to chime in. I just have a bad feeling about this. I do think this is possible. I remember after the marathon bombings when they did it. Also we got a few big snowstorms and they did a state wide travel ban. Which I feel was not necessary. I feel it was a practice run for both they just needed a good excuse to do it. I don’t understand the school closings right now. My town is closed for weeks and so are lots of other towns around me. There are 0 confirmed cases in my town and numerous towns surrounding me. So wtf?? I feel it’s the first steps in a statewide shutdown. Maybe not Sunday but definitely soon. This state loves to control the people.

Hey BY,

I agree with you in principle. My concern is that the growth rate is moving up too fast. Leadership is very concerned and ESE was alerted and messaged down. Leadership wants to be organized and protect the safety of children. Many use school (child care) to go to work. This is a multi tiered challenge.

Leadership’s goal is to protect and defend all in commonwealth. Will it be perfect. NO. Will it be uncomfortable. YES. We’re in new territory. All are making an effort to do their part while trying to understand the virus risks. There is community spread and leadership is very concerned about hospitals, medical staff and meeting patients needs.

I’m not going to speculate about the virus. But I’m taking it VERY seriously. Practice good hygiene, eating, physical health etc. Vitamin C and Chaga. No sugar. No booze smoke etc. Help your family and neighbors. People are frightened and anxiety is HIGH. This can present as anger. Be aware and be wise with your choices.

Take care of you. You can’t help anyone if you’re losing your shit. If you’re a leader lose your shit alone. One minute. Then regroup.

Put on your favorite song and dance it out alone or not. Breathe and settle your mind.

Your humanity is invaluable. Your presence in this time is no coincidence. You and I and each of us were born into it. For good or ill. We rise or fall with our integrity intact or not.

I imagine taking my last breath. I breath in and then out. I want to do so with little or no regrets. I can bring nothing with me other than what I have offered others.

Be well my fellow traveler. May you shine your light to help others find their way.

Hi yeah I get that this is all new. And people might be confused. Yeah I guess they are just protecting the children with the school closings. And the public lots of teachers might be older. But like who started the panic in the grocery stores. One day it was normal the next day it was mass chaos. I think the crowds died down at the stores. But supplies are still limited. My dad went to a store this morning. Still no tp and the whole cereal aisle was empty. We also heard a store in the Boston area has nothing. Idk which one someone told me dad they had no food at all. No cereal makes sense if people have their kids at home for a while. But I saw a guy on the news with a carriage full of Cheerios. I’m taking 30 boxes. That’s just being a hoarder from people who need it. My concern is food will run out or low sending people into chaos again. And who knows what people will do for their families. It’s happening already. Someone at work said he was in a store and other people were stealing out of others carts. That’s why I think it will get ugly here before it gets better.

I practice good hygiene. Shower daily wash hands etc. sadly most people don’t. Especially at work I swear they got worse once this virus started. They don’t wash hands or cover their mouths. They were picking their nose and coughing on food last week. It’s gross. I take vitamins. I’m not perfect I gotta work on no sugar and booze. I like to enjoy some things and it might not be healthy though. I don’t smoke at all.

I’ll help family no problem. But neighbors nope. They're in their own world. They don’t help us. They seem snobby and don’t want to be bothered. So f them. I don’t talk to any of them. It will interesting in a shutdown scenario.

Thanks for those positive words. If things get bad I’ll check back to read this.

I came here just to comment on this update. The governor said he's not going to do that now but that doesn't meant he won't in the future. Like someone else said they need to get everything in place. This is just to get people used to The idea. Just like trump thinking of doing a 14 quarantine. There are putting these stories out to acclimate people to this new reality. It will be implemented. I hope I'm wrong but I feel something big is coming and this is the most realistic scenario

Update:

I didn't see that many tractor trailer trucks on I-91 today. Still it is only Sunday.

Noticeable difference from last week in number of people out in public. Apple Store closed at the mall and lots of stores were closing early.
