I THOUGHT it was fishy that MIT was offering students $500 to move put of the dorms by Sunday (instead of the original deadline of Tuesday).

My immediate thought was that they needed everyone out before lockdowns were announced. I thought maybe it was nationwide. Bit maybe it's just Mass.

Shelter in place means lots more than just that. In Alabama, for instance, it means there's a tornado close by. It sometimes means a snowstorm is about to hit.

In this case, I get the impression it means something like, "Get to wherever you plan to be for the next 14-30 days and stay there so you don't catch this from somebody at school or work who doesn't know he has it." I doubt it has anything to do with air transfer in a particular building and I'm positive they're not going to stop things all at once and make everybody stay wherever he happens to be when the order comes down.

The first patient had been admitted to the hospital but at that time did not meet the CDC requirements to permit testing.

So will I, and for the foreseeable future, "what I will" is stay the fuck home with my family and away from sick people. I don't give a damn if there's an order from the governor or not.
