You are absolutely right, I have the same impression of this state. It's VERY VERY AUTHORITARIAN. That's the nature of Mass, which is funny because they are supposed to be liberals.....but they are the exact opposite of liberal. They are very very rigid conformists who do whatever the authority figures tell them. I absolutely hate this state and always have.

It's funny but my distant ancestors came here in 1635 and helped establish towns like Boston, Charlestown, Dedham, etc. They were Puritans and I don't think that strain ever stopped. My remote ancestor in those days was actually branded for sticking up for the Quakers and forced to leave Mass. He went to Rhode Island....which even though it is liberal, the people are INFINITELY BETTER. Much better people. I want to move there but we're trying to figure it out after literally decades of demented elder care. I cannot WAIT to leave Mass, the people here are horrible. Stupid, corrupt, lemming like, hyper competitive, ignorant assholes.

I’m in California ( don’t judge I’m not one of them). My daughter called yesterday to say her friend received an email from some university president with a heads up mandatory quarantine coming within a couple of weeks. I chalked it up to a friends uncle said , story until I come here to read it’s happening to the other side of the US.

My youngest D is going to cosmetology school and they have cancelled all appointments for the rest of the month because many of their clients at elderly.

I wasn’t into the hype and considered it to be a ploy for a fast ticket to recession in order to slow President Trump. Like him or not, it’s a dumb ass selfish move.

I got caught up in the Swine Flu craze and nothing happened. This is angering me to no end. My 24 years old daughter is freaking out. No matter what her Dr uncle tried to tell her to remain calm wash hands

Schools are being disinfected in Springfield as we speak. Staff all know something's up, but no one is talking.

All of these people are shoving us into panic situations and I'm angry & saddened that people are falling for this. Trump just said in his LIVE press conference that he will be talking again on Sunday night. MARCH 15th.

He's probably gonna talk to the people every couple of days. Trying to maintain a presence, trying to calm people, but it's not going to work.

IMO, the only thing that would work is to expose this virus for what it is.....a SCAM. He won't do that though because he won't want to challenge the System to that extent, but it's the only thing that would stop the panic. The more HE buys into the SCAM the more he authenticates it.

This has to be stripped of any legitimacy to stop the panic. I don't think any of them will do that. The only one who's doing it in a big way now is Rush Limbaugh, and to a lesser extent, Sean Hannity and maybe a couple of others.

Maybe Trump is actually still so deep in the System that he buys this bullshit, even to some extent. Or maybe he IS part of the System that wants to bring in Martial Law - not against the DeepState criminals....but against US.

Sounds like they are trying to remove as many road blocks as possible so local govts can do whatever they want, which I think means stripping our civil rights. I am concerned. People like Charlie Baker should have VERY LITTLE impact on our everyday lives.

If Trump really wanted to fight this SCAM and the hysteria it's causing, he would EXPOSE it rather than legitimize this, which is what he is doing.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed in his response, but I'm frequently disappointed in Trump anyway. He's the only candidate though.

Can add Seekonk to that list as of about 15 minutes ago, according to a friend. He just passed the superintendent's letter along via email. One week closure at this point, 3/16-3/20.

I'm okay. I've had some dental work this week so I'm probably more prickly than usual, LOL!!! But just worried that people are so hysterical over this thing - especially with the stock markets.

There is NO TP TO BE FOUND!!!! What do they do with it all? One of my friends just said they must sneeze out of their asses!

I guess "Shelter in Place" just sounds better than "Shelter wherever you think the next 30 days of your life could be best spent." This really isn't the time to get all semantic. OP was sharing what he believes to be helpful information, and I think he's probably right.
