I guess "Shelter in Place" just sounds better than "Shelter wherever you think the next 30 days of your life could be best spent." .

[ link to emergency.cdc.gov (secure)]  I don't have any vested interest in OP being correct or not. Maybe you do? I just don't see that level of confinement happening. I'm aware of the terminology. I'm just saying, if they do issue such an order, there will be some flexibility. When we've got a tornado warning in place around here, for instance, and we hear, "SHELTER IN PLACE!" all over the radio, cops aren't out arresting people for driving home from work early as opposed to taking shelter at the office. And I have no vested interest in OP being right. Don't know the guy.
