What about Prednisolon?

Prednison, that is.

I'm no doctor, but that doesn't sound like what you want?

DO NOT TAKE THEM

I am asthmatic and I need to take it during a very bad flu. While it suppresses the immune system as a whole, it reduces inflammation in the lungs allowing me to breathe.

In the short term, it's better to be able to breathe even if it prolongs the disease. That's the reasoning behind us using it during a bad cold.

I have also been thinking of using it to prevent cytokine storm.

Not sure what its called in US. But I pretty much have to take Naproxen anytime Gout flares up. So it will be a choice
of not being able to walk or risking giving Corona a hand.

tell it to the deaths of Spanish flu taking aspirins.

you can kill a flu with a sauna or roll into heavy blankets and sweat.

I rarely get flu (once in 10 years) but if I do I take a hot shower, then I drink fluid, go under very heavy duvet and sweat. In 6 hours is over.

I would caution taking ANY paracetamol when being febrile (fever)

Having a fever is an important part of the immune system.... Lowering a temp without proper understanding of the mechanics especially with a pathogen we dont understand yet MAY prove fatal.

DONT tinker with the immune system when it is ALREADY starting to work.
IF YOU HAVE A FEVER DO NOT LOWER IT WITH MEDS.... A FEVER IS AN IMMUNE SYSTEM RESPONSE TO A PATHOGEN (VIRUS, BACTERIA ETC..) IT MEANS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY....DONT USE DRUGS TO LOWER YOUR TEMP.

Coronavirus: French health minister issues warning over anti-flammatories

Coronavirus: French health minister issues warning over anti-flammatories
France's health minister Olivier Véran warned the public on Saturday that anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen and cortisone could be an aggravating factor in coronavirus infections.

France tightens (further) rules on sale of paracetamol and ibuprofen

[link to www.thelocal.fr (secure)]

Instead these kind of over-the-counter drugs will all be placed behind the counter, so that while they do not need a prescription, customers will still have to ask the pharmacist if they want to purchase them.

This is already the case in some pharmacies in France but French health regulator ANSM wants it to become the norm in order to stem the over-use of the drugs and the associated health risks. Over-use of paracetamol for example can use damage to the liver.

The measure will affect around 36 different brands of paracetamol including Doliprane, Efferalgan, Dafalgan and 46 kinds of ibuprofen including Advil and Nurofen.

I thought this was common sense. If something gives you a fever that isnt at a life threatening level, dont take a fever reducer. The fever is a big tool in killing off a virus, reducing or removing it is incredibly detrimental to your recovery. I had the flu earlier this year. Didnt take any fever reducers and I was fully recovered after 6 days. My coworkers constantly took day quill so they could come to work and were sick for weeks.
