The Bubonic Plague Virus Was Weaker than the Corona Virus
Because people lived in unsanitary conditions, didn’t have high technology and today’s advanced medical measures and precautions, millions of people died, a great chunk of the population vanished.

If that type of plague hit the planet today, it would only be akin to the common cold, low-lever strain of flu or bacterial fungus that can be cured easily with over the counter meds.

If the Corona virus presented itself in the 1300s, way more people would have perished, almost to the brink of human extinction.

Even then, we’re still prevailing... It’ll be over soon guys!

Doom off!

I just like the name

“Bubonic Plaque” always sounded cool af.

Kinda makes you wanna get and dance or take some kind of action. Hell Yeah!!!

The other name for that plague was “Black Death”, but that doesn’t have the same appeal as “Bubonic”

I really wish they’d bring back those bird beak masks doctors used to wear back in the day.

Imagine going to the doctor, waiting, your name is called up to room 12 or whatever, wait a bit, door opens and doctor comes in with pen and pad and that large scary bird beak mask with spices inside it lol

And btw, wtf are they warning you to wipe down with “anti-bacterial” wipes and use “anti-bacterial” hand sanitizer?

hesright

LOL, yeah the Black Death virus was weak af by today’s standards.

If this strain of Corona virus hit back in those dark ages, the entire human population may have possibly gone extinct. It would have even traveled quick to the Americas and kill off the humans there too.

But our meds are too good today that compared to Black Death, it’ll just be remembered as a blip on the radar

At the time it wasn't, it was stronger because we didn't have antibiotics to kill the plague. The plague was relentless and killed millions of children also.

So I would have to disagree.

That’s basically what he said in the post bro! (if you even read it)

Tech, medical advancements, precautions (antibiotics) make it less severe today.

But compare both side by side, eras and generations aside, winner by knockout = Corona Virus

What politics had to do with it?

BS

The Black Death virus, whatever it was, was a nightmare FAR more lethal.

It killed at least 50%. This Wuflu puts about 5% into ICU.

The population was smaller, majority of people lived like shit in highly unhygienic conditions, little health education, lack of meds and tech, don’t forget the rise of trade and travel by ship, contaminated rodents from everywhere, it’s bound to happen... just look at what the Spanish did the natives of the new world.

Like I said, take tech out, take populations and timelines away.

Just compare the viruses itself, clear winner Corona Virus by landslide

They were innocent.

What, you think a rat would breathe on a person and infect him?

Bullshit

For example, the Black Death killed half the human population of Iceland.

They would have fared much better with modern medicine, for sure.

But I don’t know what treatment would have saved them.

From what I understand ventilators wouldn’t have done them any good.

They weren’t dying by the millions because of dirty conditions. That is nonsense.

First of all bro, Iceland was spared of the Black Death in the 1340s/50s when it struck. They did get hit later on (twice I believe), but that was in the late 1400s and 1500s. They just called it “The Plague” but it was completely different from the Black Death.

And ships, bro, ships... by that time nearing the 1500s, Iceland had port towns for ships, so clearly infected rats and other such things like insects infested the population

You’re correct that Iceland, being isolated, was spared the first wave of the Black Death.

However....

It can safely be assumed that Iceland was not populated by rats at this time, this may offer the strongest available proof that an epidemic like the Black Death was not dependent on rats for its dissemination.

WRONG

I’m very worried about this Chinese coronavirus that kills old people also, but it does not begin to compare to the nightmare that was the Black Death that killed every demographic quickly.

I heard a discussion once that Corona is a virus from the future, akin to modern soldiers showing up in the 1300s to face primitive warriors.

Bacterium needs to evolve and when it can’t find hosts to infect anymore, it has to mutate and get stronger, so yeah, Corona is a stronger bacteria all-in-all, no doubt
