Because people lived in unsanitary conditions, didn’t have high technology and today’s advanced medical measures and precautions, millions of people died, a great chunk of the population vanished.
If that type of plague hit the planet today, it would only be akin to the common cold, low-lever strain of flu or bacterial fungus that can be cured easily with over the counter meds.
If the Corona virus presented itself in the 1300s, way more people would have perished, almost to the brink of human extinction.
Even then, we’re still prevailing... It’ll be over soon guys!
Doom off!
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78617035 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22806341 I meant to imply the premise that the Bubonic plaque was lighter than Corona is absurd! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22806341 The premise and aftermath was lighter? Sure, but still hard to tell since Corona hasn’t subsided yet. But the infections themselves, the properties show Corona being more dangerous Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75547543 I heard a discussion once that Corona is a virus from the future, akin to modern soldiers showing up in the 1300s to face primitive warriors. Bacterium needs to evolve and when it can’t find hosts to infect anymore, it has to mutate and get stronger, so yeah, Corona is a stronger bacteria all-in-all, no doubt
