Pandemic Scenarios / Rapid Escalation

If the authorities were ever going to take this virus as serious as they seem to be taking it now, all logic says their plans would clearly dictate doing so immediately from the beginning to prevent and contain the initial spread.

At the beginning, many of us were complaining about the incompetence. It was as if they were deliberately trying to let it spread and downplaying the risk so that people would be deterred from taking basic precautions.

We are now seeing information in the mainstream that has been known to us GLPers since January.

In my mind there are two main scenarios for this virus:

Scenario A
The doom is very real. Many of the worst things we heard about it early on are true and there is probably even more that we aren't aware of yet. This theory has some variables, such as the origin of the virus and motives of everyone involved with the initial infections and response. The release of information to the low-information general public was likely deliberately slowed and ramped up over time so that government, military, medical and infrastructure would have a head start to prepare before panic ensued as well as to slowdown the resulting chaos; this could allow for more effective damage control and allow the public to gradually warm up to appropriate quarantine steps.

Scenario B
It is either an insane hoax, a nothing-burger, deliberately overblown, will be stopped in some pre-planned way (i.e. 5g theories) or some other type of psyop. There are many different motives for why this scenario might occur. Many have speculated that we would eventually know this was the case because, based on the exponential growth curve, we are certain to directly experience it with our own eyes in the next month or two.

So far we have not seen people having seizures and collapsing in the street like we saw in the videos coming out of China. Aside from a few anonymous people on the internet (plus some random people on news interviews, a few easily controlled celebrities and a hand full of politicians), nobody has experienced things like that here in the United States; we have not seen any FIRE, only SMOKE.

If it is a deception, then it can only go on so long before the jig is up... Which leads me to a possible reason for the now ramping up quarantines and closures....

These will create a smoke screen. Just like it said in that Dean Koontz novel "the virus will vanish as quickly as it came". They may say that the quarantines, closures and national emergencies ended the spread of the virus. They can use the guise of national security as an excuse for why there is no proof that this thing is real. We may lose internet and phone communication to only hear updates via rumor or EBS.

And so, under Scenario B, a hoax may be used as a means to both limit personal freedom AND cover up the hoax itself so that people don't figure it out, allowing it to be used again in the future.

Both scenarios generally suck, but I actually prefer Scenario B while assuming we are in Scenario A. I believe Scenario B is more of a wild card - it has lots of variables and unknowns that allow the outcome to range from "over-hyped bullshit" to "mega doom". Some theories even allow for a positive outcome under Scenario B (i.e. sealed indictments). On the other hand, almost all of the variables in Scenario A lead to doom.
