Hydroponics, wood, and solar for subsistence living, as I am in the boon-frickin-docks. I can feel my hands cracking as I type this... Good luck to us all! ~~*NOT* a very nice kitty!~~ "Plan for the worst, hope for the best, and don't live in fear." |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77898480 United States 03/16/2020 02:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tomorrow is likely to be a down 10% to 15% day. I can't stress how bad it is for the futures market to be trading off given what the Fed did. Now, keep in mind the Fed still has a few tricks up its sleeve in the toolkit of failure. The market will free all until every last policy tool is used, then its game over. All our wealth is destroyed via a massive hyper inflationary spiral. Economic life as we know it is over. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76820193 Actually it is massive deflation occurring and the Saudis set it off by devaluing crude down to 30 a barrel. 90% of american producers CANNOT TURN A PROFIT on 30 dollar oil. Dropping interest rates is deflationary. Interest is the cost of borrowing money. Lower Interest -> Lower Cost -> Deflation. Negative interest is even more deflationary. Bonds pay no interest and return less then principal. Massive wealth destruction. Negative interest rates will kill an economy. |

How long before SEC curbs or bans short selling? My guess is this week or next if the market keeps dropping limit down. Next question. What happens to open short positions? Are traders positions closed and they are allowed to keep their profits or is the Trade busted like it never happened? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78602824 United States 03/16/2020 02:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Once they are done looting the 401 k and pensions what can they hope to steal? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76110297 The middle class is tapped out and the old folks Amit buying much. What left shit jobs and DACA illegals sending money to Mexico living off welfare. Gee I guess all the middle class has left in life is to support government, welfare illegals and wall street parasites. Lord God strike down the elite scumbags and their cheap labor leeches. Already happened. Let things play out. They looted the stock market and put it in "secret underground accounts" but the Global Trust tracked it down and swiped it into the Trust. First grab was 1.87 Trillion. Second was 1 Trillion... to launch their Phoenix currency. All failed. All circumvented. Kim, guardian of the Trust, has the funds under her watch and will release it back to the public once the Black Sun and Rothschild clan kill each other off...or run completely out of money. Whichever comes first. Your just going to leave us with that aren't you? |

What happens to open short positions? Are traders positions closed and they are allowed to keep their profits or is the Trade busted like it never happened? Open short positions stay open, they are never closed unless you close them. But remember you can’t trade right now so unless you shorted at end of day on Friday you won’t profit from a short. When the market gaps down like this the only thing you can do is short at start of trading however this is very risky because the market sometimes fills that gap and begins to rise as trading begins. So shorting is more difficult than you think. Also you can lose every penny you have because if the market continues to rise, your short position if not closed can be a limitless loss Pray for Us Sinners Now and at the Hour of our Death |

It sounds desperate but everything about this entire situation is exactly that. Seems to me that we will likely see a mad scramble for resources around the world by world powers in near future. Yea, and the ones starting the wars use us as pawns to go die for their cause, never risking any injury to themselves. Anyone who starts a war, should be required to send their firstborn son into that war. |

As you may be aware, shorting creates demand and supports price. Bear rallies are built on bleeding shorts. When the SEC banned shorting financials in 2008, the bottom dropped out. I don't expect bureaucrats to learn from past mistakes so it is coming. Just trying to get a feel for how much doom to expect. |
